Thanks again Skint_Catt. Problem is I have no idea what Extra Easy is lol. My books are so old, they're probably completely wrong. I'm hoping to find a class near me soon so I can join and get the new info! Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

Extra Easy - anything that's free on Red or Green is free on EE. Then the rest of the HEx's - bread, cereal, milk, cheese, cooked/pureed fruit etc are still HEx's & should be weighed or measured but you only get one of each (1 x HEa, 1 x HEb). You don't need 2 HEb's for example as your potato/beans etc would be free as they are free on green.
Not sure I've explianed it that well, lol.
(so you can have unlimited potato & meat/fish/poultry on the same plate!)0 -
I have some of these from Lakeland - they're ok, not masses of flavour and you need to use them on something moist (like, as you say, a potato or in baking) but good for half a syn (could even use 2). Haven't used them for ages so thanks for reminding me!
(Afterthought - they're quite good to carry round for emergencies, eg. if the only thing you can get is a JP but the toppings are all high syn, can just have 'butter' on it instead)
I have had the butterbuds and are ok - but a friend brought me back from america a bottle of: i cannot believe its not butter spray - which tastes just like butter and is calorie free, it really was god stuff and tasted like butter, i had it on crumpets, or in jkt pots and was great, but you cannot buy it in this country, i asked the manufacturers and was told there wasn't a market for it here! i think there would be - you can buy it off ebay ( from other countries) but works out expensive.slimming world start: 17.1.10 @ 200 lb's

After the minor chicken disaster....
Red Day
B - Scrambled egg + 25g cheese (1/2 HeA) + 2 Wholemeal toast (HeB)+ Light butter (2 syns)
L - Monster Salad + 50g Pasta (3 syns) + Tuna + BGTY French Dressing
D - Roast Vegetables + Chicken wrapped in bacon + rest of cheese (1/2 HeA) + 200g SW Chips (HeB) + 2 tsp of olive oil (4 syns)
Snacks - A Banana + grapes + Strawberry Muller Light + BGTY Multigrain Balance Cereal Bar +(??)
Just wondered whether how many syns are in BGTY Multigrain Balance Cereal Bars when they are not part of Healthy Extra’s?
In Total
9 syns + cereal bar syns
I know Lynne just pointed this out to you so I had another look. If you did it as Ee youve only really had one heb (the toast at brekkie) that way you wouldnt need to syn the pasta or count the chips as Lynne said. If you really wanted bread and cereal for example on then would it be better to do red/green if you are going to use pasta and chips as healthy extras on EE.
I change my day all the time, yesterday was going to be EE but by lunch id kept it neutral so decided on Green so I could have toast at supper.
I hope you dont think im nagging you, I just want to make life easier for you. Sw is really easy as there is virtually no weighing and counting.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Hi
Do you mind if i join you? I have started SW on my own with old books i have from before i had my baby. I think i can still remember things but came on to ask about Extra Easy as i bought a magazine today and before that had never heard of it.
I see SkintCatt has explained it above but im still not sure. Does anyone mind trying to explain again? I understand the bit that if its free on red or green then its free on EE but not the HE. From what i can remember didnt you only get one A and one B anyway? Do you still get the same amount of syns?
Im not sure i understand how this worked as i thought the whole reason SW worked was because you kept the food groups seperate?DS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090 -
Angela - it sounds like when you last did it you got 1 x Hea and 2 x HEb - now on Red & Green you get 2 of each. On EE you only get one of each. You still get 5 - 15 syns everyday (though the website says if you've got more than 3 stone to lose you can have more syns - no-one told me that!)
It still gives you access to unlimited 'good food' and limits the fibre/calcium & sinful bad things so it still works!0 -

Hi and welcome. As Catt says, if its free on red/green then its free on EE. And you can have one hea and one heb.
On red/green it says you can have 1-2 of both (ie you can have 4) so by cutting out those 2 healthy extras your essentially cutting out 12 syns through the day.
It does work if you do it right and the to have at least 1/3 of your plate filled with superfree foods.
I still do the odd green day but I find myself drawn into EE so I can make meals the whole family like.
Edit I typed far too slow and got distracted by my 2 year old lol Skint catt always explains things better anyway.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
Ah yes - I did forget the 1/3 plate should be superfree foods though (excluding eggs & quorn). Thanks for reminding me nic!

Are mullerlight still the only free yoghurts or can you have store brand equivalents now? Some people see the glass half full, others see the glass half empty - the enlightened are simply grateful to have a glass0

Ooh it looks like ive forgotton more that i thought....i'll have to have a read of my books. We're going to do it as a family this time too. It looks like the EE would be quite good for me as one of the things the last time i struggled with was not mixing the free red and green, ie, if i had pasta it was normally with chicken, or curry with rice. I'll take a look. If not i might have to join again. I was trying to save my pennies as im on maternity leave with no pay now xDS Anthony Steven 07.06.92DD Becky Emma 24.01.94DD Rose Grace Jean 12.05.090
