Just wondered whether how many syns are in BGTY Multigrain Balance Cereal Bars when they are not part of Healthy Extra’s?

    In Total

I made the Homity Pie from the magazine tonight....anyone else here tried it? I thought it was nice, but was very dry? -- was it just me or did anyone else find this????

I made it last night, and I agree it was a bit dry, I'd maybe add a dash of milk or a couple of spoonfuls of fat free fromage frais, to the potato mix next time...I also added a heaped tsp of wholegrain mustard.

Just got back from WI this morning and lost 4.5lbs (missed WI last week) so thank god, I'm only 0.5lb off my pre christmas weight now...lost 8.5 in total now and 2lbs away from 'getting into' the next stone IYSWIM. So hopefully I'll lose more than 0.5lb next week and I'll feel like I'm back on track again. Fingers crossed! It's nice now because on my progress chart on the SW website my little line is pointing more definitely down now than straight across!:D

    Today:
B: Apricot Wheats (heB) with some milk allowance (heA), blueberries and herbal tea.
L: Left over quarter of the homity pie (HeA for cheese) with a bowl of HM syn free veg soup.
D: Pasta with half a dolmio light sundried tomato stir in and probably some side salad.

Half a pack of the dolmio light stir in is only 3 syns which I didn't think was at all bad as they're lovely. I've kinda gone off cooking my own pasta sauces because they never taste as good as they do when they've got oil/pesto/sundried tomatoes in, so have hardly been having any pasta on SW this time around.

Snacks: will be various fruit/ fat free activia/hifi bar (HeB), 37g bag of maltesers 9.5syns.

Got 2 sachets today at the SW meeting (for 10p each) of something new as far as I'm aware called butterbuds, supposedly lovely sprinkled on a jacket potato as a replacement for butter...1/2syn a sachet, think they can be used in baking etc too. But when I use one I'll report back if they're worth it....

I can sympathise, I got weighed this morning and lost 0.9lbs (I wish my scales didn't weigh in increments - 1lb sounds so much more!). I suppose it is an ok loss but can't help feeling a bit disappointed as stuck to plan completely and have done quite a bit of Wii Fit this week. Still, might see at least a pound next week?!

Forgot to say, well done on all the losses!! (too caught up in self pity! :p)

    Green day today:
B: All bran (HEB), milk (HEA), raisins (2), sugar (1)
L: GFY pasta carbonara (1.5), pear
T: Soya mince chilli (0.5), rice
S: Grapes, banana, fun size choc bar (4.5)

Going to see a friend's band tonight and don't really want to drink so offered to drive. There's still a danger of diet coke overdose (why can't pubs do sugar free lime squash? Might take my own!) but may be necessary to keep me awake - they're not on til 10.30 which is my bedtime!!

Butterbuds have been around for years but as far as I know you can only get them in lakeland so a lot of people don't know about them. They're supposed to be very good but I'm used to going without now!

I have some of these from Lakeland - they're ok, not masses of flavour and you need to use them on something moist (like, as you say, a potato or in baking) but good for half a syn (could even use 2). Haven't used them for ages so thanks for reminding me! :)

(Afterthought - they're quite good to carry round for emergencies, eg. if the only thing you can get is a JP but the toppings are all high syn, can just have 'butter' on it instead)

  • Hello everyone

Had WI last night and lost 1.2 lb, not brilliant, but way better than I expected. I went out twice over the weekend and have been picking a bit (my downfall, well one of them!).

So onwards and upwards this week, been really good so far today.

Keep up the good work everyone.
