Congrats! :j
After the minor chicken disaster....

Red Day
B - Scrambled egg + 25g cheese (1/2 HeA) + 2 Wholemeal toast (HeB)+ Light butter (2 syns)
L - Monster Salad + 50g Pasta (3 syns) + Tuna + BGTY French Dressing
D - Roast Vegetables + Chicken wrapped in bacon + rest of cheese (1/2 HeA) + 200g SW Chips (HeB) + 2 tsp of olive oil (4 syns)
Snacks - A Banana + grapes + Strawberry Muller Light + BGTY Multigrain Balance Cereal Bar +(??)

Just wondered whether how many syns are in BGTY Multigrain Balance Cereal Bars when they are not part of Healthy Extra’s?

In Total
9 syns + cereal bar syns

Hi Autumnflower,

I'm just wondering why your not doing extra easy - that way you could have as much pasta and chips as you want rather than having to measure?

I have some of these from Lakeland - they're ok, not masses of flavour and you need to use them on something moist (like, as you say, a potato or in baking) but good for half a syn (could even use 2). Haven't used them for ages so thanks for reminding me! :)

(Afterthought - they're quite good to carry round for emergencies, eg. if the only thing you can get is a JP but the toppings are all high syn, can just have 'butter' on it instead)

This is what I thought, as I end up having a very unexciting Jacket potato and beans at least twice a week at uni, so one of these might just add a little more oomph to it....never knew it was lakeland that sold them, but 3.99 for a pack of 40, so not bad if you're just using one now and again....

• Hi Skint Catt,

Just catching up on the last few days on here, and I have a cannelloni recipe for you. I haven't tried it yet but it's on the BodyOptimise site:

Cannelloni Roma

INGREDIENTS transp.gif 9oz/225g spinach
150g pot quark
150g pot very low fat natural cottage cheese
3 garlic cloves
Finely grated zest of 1 lemon
6 tbsp freshly chopped basil, plus a few leaves to garnish
1 tbsp freshly chopped parsley
1 egg yolk
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
12 cannelloni tubes
500ml carton passata
1 tbsp artificial sweetener
2 tbsp finely chopped chives
1 tbsp parmesan cheese

INSTRUCTIONS transp.gif 1. Preheat the oven to 200ºC/400ºF/Gas 6. Blanch the spinach in boiling water for 30 seconds, drain and place in a bowl.
2. Mix together the quark and cottage cheese. Crush 1 clove of garlic and stir into the mixture with the lemon zest, half the basil, the parsley and egg yolk. Add the mixture to the spinach, season to taste and combine. Spoon the mixture into the cannelloni tubes and place in an oven-proof dish.
3. Crush the remaining garlic and mix with the passata, sweetener and remaining herbs. Season to taste. Pour over the cannelloni tubes, sprinkle over the cheese and bake for 20 minutes until bubling. Garnish with the basil leaves and serve with a salad.

INFORMATION transp.gif Unless stated, for Extra Easy count the lower Syn value.
½ on Green choice
6½ on Original choice
Serves 4

Hope this helps!

Couple more questions if you don't mind! What is Quark, is it nice and is it always free and are baked beans free on both days please.
I'm thinking that on Saturday evenings instead of having my naughty takeaway, I'll have a fry (light) up - bacon, eggs, mushrooms, mushy peas or beans if they're free?? It'll still feel naughty but it won't be :T Many thanks xx
Oh and I don't suppose anyone knows if wheat free pasta would still be classed as free on a green day?

Thanks new me - I did a search for cannelloni but it didn't bring up a response. Sounds great - was going to do it with some roasted veg for tomorrows dinner! :D

Baked beans are a 'bean' and these aren't free on red days (except green beans for some reason!) so only free on green/EE. Peas are also only free on green/EE. Both can be weighed for a HEb on a red day.

Quark is a VERY low fat soft cheese - philidelphia type texture but it's very sharp so best off mixed with something & left overnight - yes, it's free on all plans. Makes a great dip with garlic or chives mixed through it and I add smoked salmon or mushrooms to make a lovely pate to have with my krisprolls. As per the cannelloni recipe it can also be used in place of cream cheese in cooking.

Hi Autumnflower,

At the beginning of the day it was going fine in red, but then at dinnertime, I had totally forgotten about how many HeB's I had had, and forgot I was going to use them for the olive oil in my cooking.

I think it would have worked only 3 syns less (for the pasta which was an afterthought) for the day on EE, I just can't handle not having that extra HeB on EE! It was just extremely lucky that when I put the potato on the scales it was 200g so I didn't have to physically weigh out all of the chips themselves, so it wasn't too bad ;) Anyways, I don't want to change the plan half way through the day to suit what i've eaten even if I make a fluff.

Today - Green Day

L - Scrambled egg, Heinz spaghetti & 2 Wholemeal Toast (HeB)
D - Vegetable Risotto with Quorn Pieces
Snacks - Apple, banana, Grapes & Muller Light & BGTY Bar (HeB)

Might try and steal some milk off my flatmates for my HeA.
Not feeling like any syns today.

Going to do some more exercise today I think, seening as i'm going to be sitting on my bum all day.

142g baked beans
142g boiled garden peas (or 71g if you want to speed weight loss) - I believe same weights for mushy.

As has been said - if you do Extra Easy you wouldn't have to weigh these things - you're only using the extra HEb for things that would be free anyway.
