No show viewers

We had our first viewing of our property booked for today and they didn't show up. No call to the agent either as far as I know as they were shut by the time I realised the people hadn't turned up.
People can be very rude. I guess we will just have to brace ourselves for this sort of thing, it is a tough enough process without that though.

You'll get plenty of no shows - some people have no manners.
I would be a little concerned that the EA is not accompanying viewings. You effectively are letting a stranger into your home.0 -
Where you doing the viewing youself? - what exactly are you paying estate agent to do if they can't even carry out their own viewings??Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

An interesting thought, I have always shown viewers around our other houses if I am going to be at home. I don't leave them alone in any part of the house and my husband is always with me.
I am not going to let people like this wind me up because, really, would I want to deal with them if they are so rude?0 -

The estate agent did offer to show viewers round but I prefer to be there than to give them a key. Or perhaps you mean that the agent should be accompanying the viewers. I think that might be the answer actually. Thanks.0 -
A a landlord I find it annoying when prospective tenants fail to show up - and in those cases I've had to make a special journey to the property to meet them.
However it's just part of the process. Some people can be very considerate, others the complete opposite. Just accept it and don't get worked up!0 -

Do you forget that some people may not want the EA to do the viewing. In my case I am happier to do them without the EA.
PS is it selling or renting?0 -
The EA knows the person they are showing round your property, knows what they are looking for and what they've already seen, therefore will be able to sell your property toward their lifestyle better.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500

Would have been nice if they had at least phoned to say they wouldn't be able to make it, I've had to do this in the past for rented accomodation and the ll hasn't minded as I gave plenty of notice. just thinking another thing to try and elminate this happening in the future is if you are doing the viewing yourself, ask the agent to confirm with the purchaser in the AM that they will be turning up, then at least you've got some chance of finding out earlier if they will cancel. Then you won't have to let it ruin your day.Annual Grocery Budget £364.00/£1500
