    Good morning guys,

well my bro. arrived shortly after I posted yesterday and could not solve the problem so he phoned Dell for me and in the end gave them permission to access the lappy and they spent ten minutes playing with it from their end. It was fascinating to watch as what they were doing was visible our end but the upshot is that it now has internet access. :T:T:T However being the idiot I am I had checked memory and everything I thought was important when I bought it but only realised yesterday that there is no disk drive for him to load up his games so bro. took me to Currys for an external one - £60.00  for that. I am such an ignoramus sometimes.

Not much else done yesterday except the tyding and I fell asleep on the sofa at about 10pm.

Today - we need some milk and bread, whole house clean through, and loose Mt Everest from the utility. Homeworks need doing and we will watch the transformers DVD this afternoon. I will also set up my first internet shop this month for next weekend as I have had a code for £10 through the post for Mr T's as I haven't used them for a while and £3.50 converted from points from several months ago so a cheap shop coming up. :T:T:T

Lunch will be grilled fish, mash and broccoli and tea - chicken and baked potato.

Gentle hugs to all in need today, and a big squishy one for Pen-pin. xxx

    Smoky. xxx

    morning all!

didn't get to bed till 2am as we were waiting to pick DS2 up from his job at the hotel so we've all had a lie-in this morning, followed by a laze in bed reading my new James Patterson book:D

I've had a quick clean through and done 1 load of washing, got the ironing to do later. Not decided on food for later yet, plenty in the cupboards to pick from.

PP - sorry about your fil x glad your new mattress is good,:rotfl:at the thoight of your Dh with his glittery face:D

RedRuby - you'll soon lick your house into shape, looking forward to seeing the pics x

    dizzy - (((hugs)))

    jc - great kitchen!

DH will be replacing his pigeon aviary roof today, I'll be pottering around the house. I am supposed to drive to West Brom tonight for a friends party but not sure if I want to drive there yet, will decide later.

Have a lovely day all, back later x
    Do what you love :happyhear
  • morning all:hello:,
didn't sleep too well last night so feeling a bit tired and grumpy this morning. Have washed all the uniforms and got them on the airer to dry though so thats one job out of the way. Still got to clean out Georges cage, hoover all round and give the kitchen tops a good going over.
Bought a couple of floating shelves (half price) from Homebase last night so will get DH to put them up in the bedroom today.
Tonight I am going out with my friend and her mum for an italian meal and no doubt a couple of bottles of wine. Am really looking forward to it as I don't get out that much.
Also have 'soroity row' film sent through from lovefilm so may sit down later on to watch that.
JC - I am sooo jealous of that gorgeous kitchen! My kitchen is quite big but there is hardly any cupboard space and we cant put anymore in because we have windows or radiators in the way.
jackieglasgow - i know what you mean about the exams being confusing. The way i understand it is that kids are now able to start their gcse's a year earlier (my DS is only 14 but has sat several of his already). The subject exams are taken in modules (unlike when i was at school where you had only one exam for each subject). Each module is graded and after all the modules for each subject have been taken all the grades for that subject are averaged out to give the final grade. This is how my DS has explained it to me but I could be wrong .
Well I've babbled on enough - hugs to those who are poorly or down.

I had to laugh at ruby's misfortune with her new house...but in a reminiscing sort of way, as I can totally identify with her.

When we moved into our first house, we only got rid of the smell of wee in the bathroom when the floorboards were replaced .

We had visitors before we had much furniture, so some sat on the floor. Later on dh was in the bath and was picking the cat fleas out of the water . The warm weather meant that a load had hatched from eggs on the carpet. We heard later that one of the guests had bites up her ankles!

We only got rid of the cat smell when all the carpets had been removed. There was even dried on cat poo on one of the bedroom carpets.

The house had been owned by an old gent with several cats.

I have no big plans today, except to catch up with the laundry (actually, I think that is quite a big plan!) I must ask dh/ds to do some vaccing, as I'm trying to rest my arms at the moment. Need one to go with me to shop for milk and fresh stuff too. Would like to cook something nice for tonight. Might make couscous/spicy stewy thing.

Wet and wild here this morning. Starting to get wistful about putting washing on the line outside.

Stay warm and dry and have lovely things to eat! :D

    Morning all
Wild wet and windy here  so add BIG puddles to the potholes.
and I had a 9am app. Now back home, changed, raincoat and trousers hung up to dry (and that was just going to and from the car) enjoying a coffee and a rowie and planning the rest of the day. So glad I did my food shop yesterday (including M&S 3for £10 - now got the 'meat' part of 10 meals)
Oh yes, got home to find the wind has driven the rain at the right angle to find the weak spot in the roof that the roofer can't locate
Going to spend the day sorting out my craft stuff - no point in keeping half finished bits I will never finish and I can't find anything in the mess. Trouble is it will look far worse before it gets better.
  • Purple Ivy, we had a house like that too, the previous owner had a very elderly incontinent dog & we had to replace the floorboards too.

    Hi all,

I've been awol again, sorry :( I hope you are all well.

OS has gone out of the window. My BiL was arrested on Thursday and is up in front of the magistrates this morning. I don't think we will be seeing him for quite some time :( A complete bolt from the blue :( . I feel like my family has been transported into the middle of an episode of Jerry Springer. My sister and nephew (2) are with my parents and will be there until alternative housing can be sorted. I think the sky just fell.

My dad's van has been moved closer to home so he can at least get the stock off of it and start working again. It's been tough as the bills don't stop when things like this happen and he was forced to take out certain insurances through the company - none of which have covered replacement vechiles and loss of earnings. The insurance company have been dreadful - it has been off teh road since Christmas.

JC - your kitchen looks wonderful! I am the same whenever I leave somewhere - it's always spotless. I even had the carpets professionally cleaned, laundered pressed and relined the curtains and left a box of useful things (lightbulbs, polish, cleaning things) under the sink for the next tenants last time I moved :) The flat was in a better state then when I took it orginally!
redruby - glad your moves over - even with the stains. I'm still trying to work out how someone gets wee on the blinds though  At least he didn't try to wipe them off with the loo brush *shudders*
Penpin - sorry about your FiL, well done for your DD :)

My kenwood arrived and I love it already. I made a fruit cake and it was so easy :) My wrists are a bit better. I have new pipettes at work and that is taking off some of the pressure too.

I am working stupid hours again - so I better sign off and get on or I'm going to be here all night :( Have a good day all, cel x
