Hi all, haven't posted for ages as we were in France for a caravan hol (on a campsite, not in a horse-drawn caravan!) and did a bit too much, so have been mainly lurking since we got back!

P-P glad you slept better last night and that your tummy is better! Hope hosp went okay today. I was sorry to read that the iron infusions make you feel worse - I thought they were meant to make you feel better but i suppose it takes a while before you feel the benefits.

Moggins (((((((((HUGS))))))))) I feel so sorry for you, as the children were the only thing DH and I ever argued about - his Mum and stepfather were strict, and if one of her children asked why they weren't allowed to do something (such as going to the corner shop with their pocket money), she would snap "Because I said so!" I really really hate that! Our three are grown-up now and seem to be unscathed - it got a lot easier once they were old enough to understand that their Dad did love them but had no idea how to show them. It must be much more difficult when they are not all your OH's children though. Thinking of you.

Lillibet what great news! Just before I went away you said you might be moving to Cornwall, is that still a possibility? (I'm all behind with the news!)

Pooky great news for you too! Whereabouts is your OH's job relocating to?

Elona Glad your Dad is okay in the hospice, it sounds as if they are looking after him very well.

Bargain Rzl So glad you finally got away from awful boss! Hope they sort your pay rise out soonest, and that you have a lovely time at Glyndebourne - here's hoping for a warm but not too hot evening!

We had some disappointing news, as DH's application for medical retirement has been refused because the medical advisor (not the doctor who examined him, but the one who reads all the doctors' reports and letters, then makes a decision, and they've been told not to approve people's medical retirement as it's expensive!) said he could stay at work if he reduced his hours and if adjustments were made. Both already done, and it helped for a while but not any longer, and no further reduction in hours or adjustments are possible.. So he's got to appeal now. He saw our GP this morning and she was less than impressed and said they were "just being pernickety". She's going to write a full letter saying exactly why he's no longer well enough to work, so I just hope they read it and don't just ignore it because it's not from a consultant.

Anyway, end of rant! Sorry folks, just needed to get it off my chest.

Aril hope your poor DS is better today. At least it's a bit cooler (well, it is here, anyway.)

Got to go, the cats have come to sit by my chair and stare at me to tell me it's their tea-time!:D

Such a long thread today that i can't remember what everyone said, but i hope all poorly people are feeling better and (((((HUGS))))) to everyone who needs some!

Oops, nearly forgot. Tootles I'm so pleased for you that you've managed to arrange the Paris trip - hopefully the weather will be much better than when you were planning to go before!:j

    best wishes

    Hello all

I’ve come home from work and for the first time in days I’ve been able to catch up with the board. Reading everyone’s messages has put a smile on my face :D

Nicki – well done on all your exercise. I used to have the same problems when I did sit-ups so started off using one of those funny looking rocky things to help you do sit ups. Do you know what I mean or have I confused you?!?! Anyway, once I was used to using that I then progressed onto doing situps without. I always make sure I relax my neck before doing the situps as otherwise I was hurting my neck. I won’t admit how long it is since I’ve done any! :o

Lillibet – great news, I’m so glad it worked out for you.

((((moggins)))) – I hope you are ok, thinking of you, it is very hard when you have the same arguments over and over again. You sound like an amazing parent, don’t let him belittle you.

Pooky – great news for you as well, fantastic! Fancy spreading some good luck around? :p

The news about the bullying at work is that it has all gone through a grievance procedure and my line manager has received a formal warning. Being restructured at work and three of us went for the top job (Monday) but none of us got it! I’m kind of relieved I didn’t, as it would have been very, very hard. But my line manager who was at that level is devastated (but I don’t have much sympathy after the bullying). It also means that the one job going at my level, which I am doing at the moment, due to redundancy policy, she can apply for. So at the moment I am jobless and my now ex-line manager, former bully might get it!

    Blimey, life can be complicated.

Haven’t been home for a while as lovely friends are looking after me, so washing is on and I need to dry the clothes v. quickly so I have something to wear tonight.

    Catch you all later.

Good luck MP, with any luck she won't want to drop down a level and will be so annoyed at being passed over for the job on her own level that she will quit anyway :)

    Hi all

    Big hugs to you moggins.

Yet another frantic day at school, and it doesn't help that I've also got a mountain of ironing to do AND children to teach tomorrow  :D

If anyone doesn't have anything better to do at 9.30pm tonight, then my moment of fame (all 15mins of it) can be seen on Teachers' TV! Alternatively, you can watch it online. It's very very tedious, but hey, it's me! Do I really sound like that?!!!

Ah well, I'd better get on with the ironing. This will be followed by making sure I've got things sorted for tomorrow.......

    See you all later

To say today has not been easy would be an understatement! He didn't emerge from the bedroom (apart from trips to get coffee) until 2pm and we've barely spoken since. Luckily he's now gone out to band practice so at least I can breath easy for a while and I plan on being in bed before he gets home. I feel all talked out, we were arguing about this until 1am this morning and I've gone over everything I think and how I feel, he just won't budge. He's twisting everything I say until it all feels like my fault again.

I played it his way tonight, DD did not get any snacks after school so it meant I had to cook her tea at 4pm as she was getting so hungry which meant I had to cook again at 5pm, we all ate at the dining room table instead of in the living room, which meant I missed my favourite programme. She did manage to eat all her tea but it was her favourite pasta and it still took her 90 mins to eat it!

I can't live like this but can I really face the shame of a third divorce?

Oh ((((((Moggins)))))) I feel so sad for you...It's heartbreaking. Please though, if you do decide that living apart is the best for you and your children, don't feel shamed - this is NOT all your fault! You seem to me to have your head screwed on the right way round when it comes to your kids...and remember this, not only has your oldest DD turned out well with you as a mother - she has done it despite seeing broken relationships - and that must have had a lot to do with how you make your children feel loved and safe no matter what is going on around them. Seems to me you should be patting yourself on the back. Hope things work out for you.

Been to the hospital this evening to see my nan. It is possible she also has a DVT in her leg. Can't seem to get much out of the nurses.
Nan was still upbeat, moaning that her hair was a mess and she wouldn't be able to get the old boys on the ward to notice her. She is so funny.

Whatever they do to her she just carries on as if nothing has happened.

OS is out of the window at the moment what with the trips back and forward to the hospital and full time job. Daughter is at a sleep over saturday so think me and hubby will just chill with a take-away.

    Thanks again for the support

Moggins, if divorce is the right way, then there is no shame!!

Is your DH aware how awful things have got? I'm not being funny but a lot of men, my DH included, do bury their heads in the sand, and seem to be totally unaware of what's going on around them.

Maybe he needs a wakeup call? I'm sure he loves his daughter, but he needs to acknowledge that his way is not making her happy or healthy!! Has he the slightest inkling how very seriously you feel about all of this?

Whatever the outcome you'll know that you did your best, so hold your head high girl!!
