Hi all! and Welcome to Ruby Pudding and COOLTRIKERCHICK!

Catowen - Hope your hoover has arrived by now! I don't think it's sad at all - it's always exciting to get a new one. Mind you, I've now got a little Sebo one which is fantastic so i hope it lasts a very long time.

P-P - poor you getting bitten! I tried arnica gel when i was bitten last week - they may stock it at the 7-day Chemist, they seem to have all sorts in there.

Shez - glad you like the new office but I see you can't get instant updates on the weather now - have you moved to an office with no window? I don't think I'd like that.

Smashing Blouse - glad you enjoyed Italy! DH and i are going there on a coach holiday in Sept - 3 overnight stops each way, we must be mad, but we get to visit Rome and Pisa en route, and we'll be staying just outside Sorrento so I'm looking forward to it.

Michelle - as Catowen said, try not to overdo things - it'll only send your blood pressure soaring!

Aril - best wishes for your celebration - enjoy!

nicki - glad to hear your DD is on the mend!

Ajax - glad the wedding went okay! As you know, we were all thinking of you and VickyA.

Churchmouse - My neighbour cut his lawn the other day too - mind you, they love their garden and I think he's been watering it with a watering can.

Ageandjo - 8 a.m. does seem a touch early to be cutting the hedge, but I bet they'd say they were doing it early before it got too hot. Well done to your OH for not taking any c**p!

Scuzz - it's really brave of you to do double shifts, but try not to overdo it!

I stubbed my toe yesterday and seem to have broken it, as it clicks when I walk and is black and blue:rolleyes: I did the same thing several years ago and it was so sore then that I went to A&E, only to find after several hours' wait that all that could be done was to tape the broken toe to the one next to it. So that's what I've done this time! (I mean I taped it up, not that I went to A&E again.) Still very sore though. Hopefully it'll heal quickly as i couldn't wear ordinary shoes at the moment!

Hugs to all, from a hobbling

  • Afternoon everyone - it feels like I haven't posted on here for ages :o What with having computer problems and being really busy I really haven't had a chance - (it's amazing how much you miss not reading and repsonding on MSE though :D ).

Anyhoo - I've seriously fallen off the OS wagon and need lots of motivation. DD is on the summer hols - DH had a week off work last week, she went to her Nana's work today, and the rest of this week she's got footie training (she really wanted to do and it was half the price of the childminders :D ). My house is a mess, but in 2 weeks time I've got 2 whole weeks off - so I'm going to attack it then.

Dinner tonight will be ribs, corn on the cob (£2.79 for 4  ), onion rings, wedges, potato salad and coleslaw

I'm resisting the urge to crack open a bottle of vino - I've had the day from hell at work - me and my big mouth - I think someone's going to get sacked because I've dropped them in it

Anyway I've really missed all you guys, and am looking forward to getting back in my MSE routine again. (((((hugs)))))
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Afternoon. Thought i would have a bit of a rest and pop back on.

Thanks shez, catowen and ivyleaf for the concern. I am trying to only potter. The trouble is there is so much to do, and i know DH can't get it all done by himself. I'm trying to help out now while on school hols, as i know the further along i get, the harder it is getting. That's why i'm doing it in short stints. I just found it hard yesterday because DH was like the duracell bunny and hardly stopped, while 10 mins at snail pace wore me out. :rotfl:

I managed a kitchen tidy up this morning, followed by time on the internet, then an hour of ironing (while it rained :j ), followed by lunch, reading a magazine and a face mask. I'm about to have an hour of paper stripping.

ivyleaf - rest that toe - sounds really painful!

Nicki - glad to hear that your DD is feeling a lot better.

catowen - i'm slightly envious of the new hoover. I have never had one. The two i've owned were both hand me down from my mum, the current one is definitely the worse for wear after DH's DIY clean ups, but he keeps patching it up so it works. I think i may save some of my shop and scan vouchers and see if i can find a good one in the January sales. ;)

Pooky - great shopping bargains. well spotted.

    Ta ta for now,
    Michelle, xx

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Ajax :)

I had a lovely afternoon shopping, I found four pairs of trousers to fit me on the £1 rail at the Mind Shop, 1 pair of jeans and one pair of dungarees for £10 each from Next and 3 pairs of shoes at £5 each from Shoezone :D Splurged a bit in Debenhams where I bought 2 bottles of Elizabeth Arden perfume and a foundation in the sale and got a canvas beach bag with some Elizabeth Arden goodies free because I spent just over £40.

Then I found the ELC in Debenhams was closing down and had a sale on so stocked up on beach toys for the summer. Treated myself to one new computer game and then spent nearly £50 in AS (sssssshhh don't tell DH) :D

You're on for next time! It's a lot more fun giggling in the AS shop with someone rather than blushing before the shop assistant :D

Tutt tutt - I thought you didn't do those shops Mrs Moggins... :D
Don't forget that there is a HUGE branch waiting for you in Cardiff - with a McD's not far away for the little uns... ;)

I think someone ought to have warned me how addictive this could be 3_11_5v.gif The Herb bed all done I've now attacked what was once the lawn....

I've got a pretty wicked tan from the festival yesterday.... Where I put my bag diagonally across my chest for half hour I've burnt either side of the strap so I've a cracking white patch running diagonally down my chest :rotfl: :rotfl: I did something similar a few years ago and ended up with a hand print on my leg - quite amused the midwives when I went into labour with brown legs and white handprint :o
Unfortunately rain has stopped 'play' in the garden. It's been coming down in marble sized drops. I know I said I wanted some, but you can have it back now:p
TBH I think I'm throwing myself into the garden as I really don't want to face the 'money' thing. I think I've finally come to the end of the 'pot'. I really don't want to get myself any further in debt so I'm going to have to sit down and face it soon. Just wish there was someone here to hold my hand and give me a cuddle...
Still, it was having a man in my life that got me into this mess, so I'm better off without. I'm not saying all men are useless, just the ones I've had in my life :p Anyway, just wanted to say hello to everyone and tell you how much I've got on with thanks to your ideas and motivation (normally being scared about money would see me in bed under the covers and the kids having chips from the chippie!)
I have tried to catch up with the daily threads, but it's getting quite a challenge while I'm out all day. Managed to read all of Fridays and todays so it's just Saturday and Yesterday to go at the mo!

    Hope you are all well,
    Love

Well, the hoover finally arrived!!!!:j it was at 5.45pm, so waited in all day for no reason really, but at least its here now, and my carpets are finally clean:T
Hoping to get DS and DD into bed a bit earlier tonight, due to the school holidays they have been going later, but i quite fancy a bit of peace, a glass of the red medicine and find a good film to watch on my own. if im lucky, might even find some chocolate:beer:

Well I am back from my hol's!! Got back Saturday morning. Had such a lovely time, but went so quickly :(

Tried scuba diving and loved it!!! Want to do it again!!!:D Will aim to do it next year either before I go travelling or while I'm away.

Back to work today and crikey was it boring!!!:p

    Brekkie was bran flakes
Lunch was rolls with cheese, tomato and red onion
Dinner was JP with cheese and beans

Currently got the breadmaker on  and am halfway through boiling some chickpeas (3 hours:eek: ) Once the chickpeas are done then I will boil some bulghar wheat to make up some tabbouleh for lunches for this week. Ta-da!! :p

Am tidying and cleaning tonight as well. Case all unpacked (did that Saturday) it's just "bits and pieces" to put away now. Have already sorted and filed the post that arrived while I was away, and wickedly enough got LOADS of freebies!!

Lots of work this week, another 7 day weeker so straight back into it after the hols:rolleyes: so hopefully can get everything sorted tonight then not worry too much for the rest of the week.

    Hope everyone is well

Kaz, just keep on reminding yourself that you ARE better off without them! Today I had everything spotless by 11am, DH came home and I pottered into town, collecting his prescription on the way and exchanging his faulty DVD in town, home on the bus for 4pm, to find the house a wreck and the one job I had left undone (unloading the dishwasher, takes 5 minutes) still not done, dirty crocks all over the worktop as he couldn't put them in the dishwasher, so I had to do all that before preparing and cooking tea within 30 minutes so he could get ready for work!

Yes, I know I don't normally do those kind of shops but at this rate it's AS or go and find a replacement DH as he can't seem to fit that in either :(
