Lillibet - have you got a aldi near you? They do a product called Austin and it is the same as pimms and half the price.0

Good morning everyone,
Twink - Are you going to Watermouth, near Ilfracombe? If you are, its absolutly beautiful there, we used to live near there and it really is a lovely place!!!! Hope you have a lovely time.
Vicky - i agree with everyone else, and i would worry that if she has 'out priced' a lot of people, they will end up buying what they want, rather than whats on the list, so the couple will end up with things they dont want or need!!!!
Catznine - well done on the Amazon sells!!!
Joannasmum - how scary, waking up to a bird flying around the bedroom!!!! When i had my cats years ago, they were never clever enough to catch much (they brought me a worm one day, and were mighty proud of themselves!!!) so imagine my horrer when i got home from work one day, to find a massive blackbird flying around my flat!!!! Took ages to get rid of, and its amazing how much mess, one bird can extract from its little body!!!!
Shez - good luck with the painting, have you much more to do?
Lillibet - enjoy your party (and the pimms!!!!)
P Penguin - i agree, where has this year gone!!!!
PP - hope you enjoy your takeaway (fingers crossed for the pizza hut for you!!!)
Manicdays - Shame you have to work, but hope it goes quickly for you.
Funky Fairy - Hope you have a great BBQ!!!!
Well, ive managed to have a lie in this morning, didnt get up til 9!!!!! Havnt slept in for weeks now (on holiday we just had to get up every day to get the most out of it), mind you, i need to get myself into the shower and get dressed, as DS has to be at football for 10.30. That is the only thing planned for today, apart from the England match later, its the first proper one we will be watching, as we were away (last Sunday just got back) for the others. Might even get some nibbles (and some wine maybe  ) and make an afternoon of it!!!! Quite fancy a BBQ myself, but not sure if its worth getting it all set out just for the 3 of us.
Right, must go, hugs to everyone and anyone i have forgotton!!!!
Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx0 -
Morning everyone :j:j
I'm sneaking on and off before moggins catches me, I have fallen way off the FlyLady Challenge wagon big style but lots of things have gone against me somehow
Just found this site by accident http://www.beadsforbeaders.com/ and wishing I had an excuse or the aptitude to buy some of the beads of the month, they look gorgeous.
I smiled at the saying on the front page, I am changing it to suit me today...
I will not clean my house today
I will not dust or put away
I will not iron nor wash those plates
I'll just have fun
IN THE SUN
catowen, I did read your holiday report, sounded like great fun and glad you enjoyed DC!0 -
Morning everyone.
I totally agree with the wedding list. We had most items between £1.50 and £25, with a few more pricey bits that we hoped family groups would club together for, and also the option of vouchers so that we could purchase the rest of the stuff ourselves at the end. We had some really daft things on there like outdoor eating set, monopoly, and then the typical dinner service, where 1 plate wouldn't set you back too much.
Gosh - i remember well looking through the list virtually every hour when it opened and getting so excited. Enjoy it all Vicky as it will be over far too quickly.:T
One of our favourite mementoes was that we hired a caracaturist, and our guests and ourselves had the most amazing keepsakes. Ours is now hung on the wall.
Back to the real world. I got a lie in till 10, but that is after having a restless night, so i feel semi-human. DH is at work all day, so my plan is to get as much work done as possible today to prepare for OFSTED. That way i can spend some time relaxing tomorrow with him before the start on the treadmill again.
I've currently got the WM about to finish its first load. I've a few loads to do today as my plan to stay on top after the FLC has gone to pot a bit this week. I need to try and rescue it.
Don't know what i will do food wise today. I'm banging weight on far too quickly. I keep getting comments from people at work as i'm as big as my colleague who is 7 weeks more pregnant than me. So i reckon a day of no junk, lots of fruit and veg, and try to be a bit healthier. I know i can't diet, but i'm fed up of feeling really bloated, particularly if its going to get hot again.
Suppose i'd best stop procrastinating.
Enjoy the Sun.

Morning all.......(((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) to those who need them.
Have been up since 8.30 OH got up at 6.55 to go to the allotment before it got too hot, did he really have to wake me up as well?????? but I did get my brekkie in bed.
Got up and had a shower, prepared the supper for tonight, salmon (cold) cooked it yesterday, new spuds and peas, with straws and ice-cream to follow. Made myself a coffee and sat in the garden reading waiting for OH to re-appear which he did about 10.30.
Out this afternoon with a friend, hence getting the supper ready before I go, not too sure what time I will be back.
Vicky...... I have never really been in favour of wedding lists, but guess they are a necessary evil, when my daughter married we sent one with the invites but said that it was not compulsary to buy from the list, anything would be very welcome, they had been living together for almost a year when they got married, so had quite a bit of stuff, people did buy off the list but also they got gift vouchers which enabled them to choose some things for themselves. Lots of stuff on the list were in the equivilent £5 bracket..........my youngest son bought them a wicker laundry basket from Wilkinson which cost him a couple of quid ( they married in 1981) they have just celebrated their silver wedding.
When I married my first husband in 1961 we were asked if there was anything we would really like, I rememebr I asked for a fruit set, a big bowl and 6 small bowls, the one we got was Italian and cost a small fortune in those days, all I wanted was a plain glass one. The Italian one ended up in a cupboard and was only used on VERY special occasions..........we had some of my then OH's business aquaintences for dinner and I used the fruit set for dessert, going into the kitchen after dinner I fell and broke the lot!!!!!!! as well as several very expensive crystal drinking glasses and half a dinner service!!!!!
Right I am off after that little story to see about some lunch need to have a quick trip to Tesco on my way to collect my friend...... they were out of value tinned tomato's when we did our big shop this week and I needed 6 for her as well as some for myself........Tesco are not on my favourite list right now.....far too much stuff out of stock.................

Hi everyone!!
How come it is always sunny on a sat when I have to work and the rest of the world is off?
After today I have 2 more Saturdays left to work. Whoo!!
I was meant to be out tonight, but I dont fancy it, and the flat is a tip (my housemates dont seem to do anything!!) - so I think I'll do that instead. Saving for my trip anyway, no point blowing the budget now when I am so close!!
Need to do some healthly grocery shopping as I've been living off complete junk for the past few weeks and have put on about 8lbs! Not good when I know I am going to Oz and need to be thinner, not fatter  !!
I admire everyone on here. Your meals all sound delish and you're all very organised & house proud which puts me to shame!! Penny Pincher - I am jealous of all the bargains you seem to pick up!!
Perhaps I should write a list whilst I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs.

Morning all
EL I'm behind yoooooooooo!
Vicky I agree about the wedding list - we just put a box by the door at the reception and asked for vouchers so nobody had to be embarrassed if they couldn't give much.
I had a lovely lie in this morning and then got up and hung some washing out, watered the garden and stuck a chicken in the slow cooker, I've cleaned and tidied the kitchen and just have to take some clean laundry upstairs.
We've got the barbecue at my DD's pub to go to at 3pm and then DH has a concert tonight. DS is staying at his dad's tonight so it will be a quiet one for me. I have a bottle of plonk and some tortilla chips and dip to look forward tooOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things

Morning everyone
I've just waved the trusty Nels-mobile off into the distance, laden to the gunnels with their purchases (mostly Rzl's, to be fair) This was after i found out that Nels has been feeding my boys e numbers .... but won't obviously be here to see the consequences :rotfl: We had another late night last night, although after our scrumptious meal at the pub I came home and only drank water :A We put the world to rights and sat up waiting the homing coming of Mr TM.
This morning I had to take Mr TM to the hospital. He's been bitten by many a critter and now has celluitis in his feet!! Someone else on here's just had that haven't they? Sorry, can't remember who. So, came home, made everyone bacon/egg butties and now everyone is has either gone or is outside, I shall get to grips with the cleaning and laundry. It's amazing how it builds up in 2 day, but as Mr TM has been away for 5 days, the washing backet will be bursting anyway. DW needs switching on and BM needs to go on too. No idea what to have for tea ...will see what everyone wants later.
I'm also going to go for a bike ride while the england match is onHopefully the roads will be nice and quiet and it will be a tad cooler by then.
Ok, I can hear the washing basket calling out to be emptied and I'm wasting good drying weather :rotfl: Ooooop, sorry Nels, you know I have a life really
TM xxx
PS Nels' other good trick for entertaining my kids when I was at A&E, was to have a screaming competition!! She won, obviously.......but I shall have to go and apologise to my neighbours, who must have thought WW3 had broken out0 -
Hi everyone!
Well I'm still here at work but everyone's gone home. Usually when I work on a Saturday it's pretty straightforward and I can pop in here regularly but much too busy today....ah well I shall stick around here until OH drops the small person plus 2 friends with me at 2pm. I've really drawn the short straw this time and am being forced to take them to see Over the Hedge because OH wants to work. Shame!!!:D [it's a late birthday treat]
It's very hot here and due to get hotter so am not rushing around too much. Have managed to get 3 loads of washing out and dried since 4.30pm yesterday...oh heck more ironing. Oh goody!
Tomorrow am going to make OH a birthday cake. He's requested a Victoria sandwich with lemon zest which I shall do with a whipped cream filling flavoured with vanilla extract and OJ. Am also hoping to make some more Earl Grey tea and the weetabix cake. Have got all the ingredients but OH has found the weetabix and is depleting them fast!! In the afternoon we're going to a local folk festival....yes lots of people in dodgy hippy clothes just like me. For once I don't stand out at all!!:rotfl: :rotfl: Obviously will need to pay a visit to the real ale tent as I feel it would be churlish not to taste their wares!!
Other than that more domestic trivia I have no doubt which I will not bore you with the details of!!
Have a good weekend
Aril
PS Has anyone seen Holsale around..I miss her contributions!Aiming for a life of elegant frugality wearing a new-to-me silk shirt rather than one of hair!0
