Afternoon everyone
Vicky and Ajax I hope your days are going according to plan.
Kaz, are you trying to meet up with Aussielass before me?
DS has now gone off to scout camp leaving his cap behind so he has nothing to protect his headI've spent the last couple of hours sorting through all the clothes DD has grown out of so I can finally get her drawers to shut.
We're off to see DH's concert tonight, it's outdoors so that is a relief as it's sticky and nasty here.
Have a good day everyone.Organised people are just too lazy to look for things

My dad is still at the hospice but we do not know if he can stay much longer. he seems a bit brighter but is in a room of his owm and was given four units of blood a few days ago.
Went shopping to Lidl and made lunch of garlic bread, potato salad, cooked chicken drumsticks and a little left over lasagne from yesterday. Everybody enjoyed it!
Happy wedding day to both happy couples!"This site is addictive!"

Woohoo Vicky and Ajax - the big day is finally here. Best wishes to you both.
Interesting day for me. I have finally used the BM for the 1st time in months. Now i remember why i stopped using it as the smell still doesn't do much for me. Hope it changes when the pregnancy is over as the bread itself is tasty.
1 load of washing done and on the line. We went to B and Q, and my parents house this am. Now DH is up in the loft doing something with cables ready for the aerial guy arriving. We'll have to have another trip to my parents later as we need to borrow a big drill from my BIL so DH can be DIY-ecstatic, and also leave the car there so he can fix it for us next week.
One of the cats has decided that his new favourite place to sleep is on my wall unit. Now who was it again who started the FLC and got me to move the junk i had there?Hopefully it is a fad just for today as i wouldn't fancy him doing it on the new unit.
I don't really know what to do with myself as i don't want to get in DH's way. I think a day of trying to keep cool, as the car thermometer said it was 28 degrees out.
See you later.

I was just surfing around the internet trying to find an oilcloth tablecover for the kitchen as my current one is definitely showing its age when I stumbled across a site www.oldeglory.co.uk and it provided me with a good 40 minutes of browsing (I think I need to get out more!!). It is a British shop which sells all kinds of Americana stuff - not everyone's taste I know, but they had some wonderful cookbooks and make do and mend books which I think looked lovely for presents and for me!! They were not cheap (around £16 each) but I looked on Amazon and they had them for £8.28 each - they are in a series called Gooseberry Patch or I suppose they wil be on ebay - likewise some of the traditional puzzles and games which I think are lovely. DD2 loves old fashioned crafts and puzzles (unlike DD1 who would sit all day on MSN if I let her!!). I think its worth a quick look see anyway. Finally, I didn't get my oilcloth - I am looking for polka dot circular - anyone know any sites or shops which sell it?Jane

Vicky & Ajax- Congrats for today & hope you both have a wonderful time & that your marriages are as happy as mine is.
Am having a lazy day today as only came home from the neuro rehab unit yesterday for the weekend. Unfortunately have to be back by 8pm tomorrow  . I have been in for 4 weeks so far but am hoping that next week is the last.
Mom has now gone in to a nursing home as of Thursday & we visited her on the way home from the hosp. She seemed settled enough & it seems a nice place ( already the care seems better than when she was in hospital).
At the moment my brain is not working too well & it is taking forever to do anything. But never mind there are lots worse off than me.
We had a BBQ in the garden of the ward on Thursday evening (how sad -it was the 1st one I have ever been too). It was organised by the staff & any relatives who wanted to come were asked to bring a contribution (plenty of stuff left over)
Hugs to anyone who needs them & I will go now as my brain feels like a bowl of mush right now ( don't know where I'm going to get one for it :rotfl: :rotfl: )Love to save & love a bargain0 -
Wow - lovely things. Had to get off quick before the urge to buy overwhelmed me!0

Evening all!
Hope our brides had/are having a lovely day! Don't suppose they'll have time to read the thread this evening!
Can't believe it, it's actually almost cool outside this evening!
Hi Scruffy, glad they let you home for a couple of days! Wishing you a speedy recovery! Just take things gently and don't worry about how long it takes to do stuff.
Penny-Pincher glad you've decided to get the car, it sounds ideal for you! I really like the Picasso, though we'd need a petrol one as DH has to have an automatic these days. He did explain why diesel engines aren't usually available with automatic transmission, though I can't remember what he said now - I just remember I nodded wisely and said "Ah, i see.":o
BTW the Motability scheme now does hire purchase as well as lease hire - don't know anything about their hire purchase scheme though, as DH is quite happy to have a lease hire one. They do have a lot fewer restrictions than they used to as well.
Aussielass - we do have jaffles here but we just call them toasties - jaffles sounds much more fun!:D
Managed to stub my toe earlier on and it was so sore that I took some Solpadeine - having a job to stay awake now so it looks like an early night is in order....
G'night all, hope it's getting cooler everywhere and we can all get a decent night's sleep for a change!:T
