Morning evryone,
Very late here - not long woken up. I have just given two disgruntled cats their breakfast. Only one more week of the holidays, I think they will be glad to return to the 6.30am rises. I am getting to used o these leisurely starts!
rchddap such lovely news about the baby. If you want to take up catowen's suggestion about a cat, I have a young ginger cat here who's a complete feline ned - would fit the bill quite nicely... Love him to bits really.
pp you have a lot on your plate just now. I hope the DLA works out ok. The scooter's are great. My mum has one and its a great help shopping. Teen daughter loves it too! Do you use the motability scooters at the shopping centres? You can use them when you are visiting other places too.
I need to give the house a good clean and do some cooking as sister and her hubby visiting for weekend. Thankfully its cooler here today. I have been very lethargic in the heat.
I got some little individual cranbery and turkey pies reduced to 10p each in morrisons yesterday. Thought they would make a nice starter, but not sure how to serve - hot or cold and what to put with them? Also got some pakora and a big camebert cheese for 20p. Looked at recipes online and saw cambert can be deep fried. I don't have a deep fat fryer, does anyone know if they can be shallow fried?0 -
Morning all
Up, showered and dressed early this morning. Been and had my barnet cut (only been 4 months since the last cut) so now it's looking all gloriously shiny and tidy
Everything was going fine this morning - until DS1 came in and said that one of the gerbils had been chewing the curtain. Their cage had been left on a desk in the window and the curtains drawn around them last night. I imagined that he'd seen the little critter knawing on a thread at the end. I go to investigate and find that there is a 3 inch hole in the middle of the curtain!! They were really expensive curtains tooThey have sewn in blackout linings so that will make it more difficult to repair - I don't even know how I'll do it yet cos I'll have to find a large swatch of the material. Grrrrrrrr!!
Anyway - trying to sort out the new handset someone gave me as mine is packing up, but can't get it to recognise all my phone numbers. I'll try later. And as Mr TM has taken the boys out, now is the perfect time to start moving some of HIS stuff out of the study soI can put my new desk up. He's not going to be pleased, but so whatIt's not like he works from home, is it
Dunno about food yet - I'll have soup for lunch I think. Need to put BM on soon. DW is unpacked and repacked and WM is ready to be switched on.
Right, have a good day everyone and Rzl, hope you get that flat today
Off to do some work now
TM xxx
ps I haven't told anyone what the business is yet, so you haven't missed anything. Once it's up and running, I will do, promise. Still haven't got a company name yet - it's proving rather elusive, but "I have a man on the job" as they say :rotfl:0 -
Morning all,
Vicky & Ajax Congratulations and all the best for tomorrow. xxx
Bargain Rzl I sincerely hope you get the ok this arv. I've just rubbed my buddha tummy for good luck.Got it for a 21st birthday gift & it's never failed yet.
TM Oh dear. Couldn't resist a smile though. Is a gerbil like a lizard?
Lillibet Your avatar is so cute. He's adorable.
((((((((((hugs)))))))))))) to everyone else.
Well yesterday was very eventful. GF picked me up from train station & her car stalled. Two stapping big lads came to the rescue (not good enough Snowy
) and couldn't start it. Rang RACQ, took 1 hr to get there. He couldn't start it so he called a tow truck. The tow truck took 1 hr to get there. and towed it away to her mechanics garage. She only got it back yesterday.
We walked back to her place. If I knew this I would have worn my sneakers & not my boots. 1/2 hr later & 2 blisters we finally get there. Had to walk back of course a few hours later. But we had a lovely time together anyway & had a laugh about it all.
Tomorrow off to a baby shower. It's my nephew's wife. Will be away for most of the day as DH wants to get his hair cut & we want to price bathroom stuff. The council letter finally came :jso we can start. Rang the rellies in Scotland tonight & told them we think January is going to be THE month. They are so excited. Not half as much as me.
Anyway better go and have my shower. They all beat me to it tonight.:D So I'm waiting for the hot water to heat up again. Raining here today but fine for the w'end. ByeeeeeeeeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Hi all
It's cooler here today in sunny Berkshire, so I hope to get more done. I've already washed the hall floor & am about to do the kitchen floor next, I have a mountain of clean washing to sort & put away.
Hubby has worked all this week, so we have £138 to come today, nothing else on the horizon, but fingers crossed, something will turn up to bail us out. Last month I got a tax rebate & I have finally after 5 years got my share certificate from my Ex. It seems there is £168 of unclaimed dividend so have applied for that.
I have a sewing job to do, a full length evening dress to take up, but am waiting for the weather to cool down before I attempt it as I don't want to leave sweaty fingerprints on it. I'm not sure how much to charge, but every little helps.
We're babysitting for my grandson tomorrow, so that will keep us both busy as he is only 2, talks non-stop & is a real livewire.
MD, hope the counseller works out, but don't forget, not every counseller/client relationship gels, my hubby had 3 before he found one who helped him come to terms with his accident, best of luck with it all.
Hugs to all
Hester

we don't want tootles's fingers to seize up do we
RZL it's the legs and toes that are really causing the problem!!!!!!
Seriouly though I do hope you hear before the weekend, I certainly cannot cope if I have to wait all weekend to hear the YIPEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!
Had a very bad morning friends computer keeps dropping the broadband connection, I have tried everything you can imagine, so have given up for now, going back on Monday, will ring BT then and see of they can help me to sort it out.
Very hot here, we have retired to the sitting room........I have the line of washing dry, some of it will just be folded away the rest will have to wait until later when its cooler, have a load of whites for tonight with bowls trousers and shirts in so looks like sometime next week before I attack the ironing.
Nothing planned really for the weekend, thinking about a boot sale Sunday depends on the weather, if its going to be too hot forget it!!!!! Will have to have a trip to the library too have read all my books........waiting for the electrician to come and replace the shower fuse box with a circuit breaker, not sure when he is coming..........

Afternoon all
Bargain_Rzl - I hope you hear soon and that it's good news, all this waiting is unbearable!
Ajax & VickyA - Have an excellent day tomorrow, I hope the weather is just perfect for you.
MrsMH (f.k.a Manicdays) - I hope that your session with the counsellor went well.
Well, we ended up having a late night last night ( 3:00  ) as we ended up entertaining, both felt v.hungover this morning:beer: :rotfl: . Thankfully DD slept in until 08:00
I went for a very non-OS eye brow wax/pluck, which I've never had done before, not to be recommended with a hangover, but hey! It cost £6 - dunno if this is good / bad / average? She's done a beautiful job, far better than I've ever managed, love the shape
DH has just picked up the repaired/replaced sash windows, so guess what we're going to be doing this afternoon! Thankfully it hasn't rained this week whilst they've been out ... however, still hoping it doesn't rain for another 2 days to give us a chance to get them fitted / primed and painted. Am I the only one who doesn't want rain!
Right, time to tackle the receipts (enter in to MS Money) and do the necessary transfers (we use the credit card for everything pretty much, but I transfer the money from the current a/c in to a "credit card" pot which I then pay the card(s) off in full each month. This way it offsets our mortgage for longer)
I started to look for cheaper 'phone / broadband packages this morning, but got overwhelmed. I think I'm going to need to feel stronger b4 I do that!!
Right, I must stop procrastinating and get on with it
