i second it being pants waiting. I have now been stuck downstsirs all day since 8am this morning waiting for the water meter guy to come and read the meter. No sign. Yet it was them kicking off the other week saying it had to be officially read. I could have stayed in bed later this morning. Grrrr.

I hate feeling like the day is being wasted.

Shez - please don't worry about me today. As above, i've been sat on my bum all morning so no danger of swollen feet. ;)

I had best start doing something now though, or DH won't be able to start the wallpaper stripping and then i'll be in bother.

I'll be working at snails pace though, as i've just had a jacket spud with cheese and pickled onions for lunch, followed by a cornetto, and i'm now roasting. Plenty of ice pops this afternoon i think.

    Take care everyone.

Well DD is in the most fowl mood :( I can't do anything right ATM. It's to be expected but I'm shattered so I just want to curl up and go to sleep but at the same time my blood is boiling because of DD's attitude/wingeing - trying my best to remind myself that she's ill but you know when you reach that stage where you could throatle them even though their sick...well I've just been there trying to get her to go for a rest in a dark room

Last load of washing is on. I need to do ironing, sweep & mop the livingroom/kitchen floors, wash up but all I can do is itch  I hope I don't get shingles :(:(:(

Best get on before DD shouts me to change her CD  Later

Hi - just popped in to say hello, so not really up to date with everything..
BRzl - did notice you've not heard yet - hope its not too much longer to wait

We have actually got some real rain atm, but problem is, DH has shut the windows cos it was all coming in - so that seems to have somehow balanced out the benefit of the rain cos its stuffy inside. Ok, now the rain has stopped so I have just opened windows again (you can see it was not a very long rainstorm!)

Today DS & I were up early for his piano lesson, then off across the county to a tour of the Chelmsford Borough council offices with the Mayor. (A home ed. group visit) After that we went to a nearby park for a while.

After that it's nice to be home!

Well given that it's nearly 5pm now, I phoned the HA myself (again) and was told "tomorrow" (again):rolleyes: What are these people trying to DO to me? ... I do have a tendency to panic a bit, and this really isn't helping

Havent been too with it the last 24hrs but am here now...well kind of..lol.

Took DD with OH to get her new uniform...she was driving us mad going on about it 24/7...anyway £369 later:eek:   ...she wants to wear it everywhere:o ..will post pics in the next few....but she looks so grown up. Guy in the shop nearly passed out when we said size 6 feet at 11:confused::D;) ...must be all the OS good food:p

Had to take some jeans back to Next Clearance store. OH pushed me in the chair which was a pain, but if anyone is interested all their jeans are down to £3, tops £2 and winter coats etc £3/£5:beer: :j  :T ....anyway..spent another £75 but bought 3 coats, 13 pairs of jeans/trousers (all 3 of us), 11 tops, 2 dresses, 1 skirt and some tights for niece (50p) for 4 pairs. Have spent so much in there in the last 3 weeks but are all classic clothes and wash up well and will last for ages. DD wears same size as me, although my trousers are slightly too long but is working out well ATM.

Had a lovely afternoon with SIL yesterday and the kids wore themselves out in the pool...was soo hot though.

Shez-OH & BIL had no probs with tickets to Motorshow and they even got complimentary tickerts to the stunt show (normally £5 each). Didnt cost a penny! There was a stall even doing a meal deal-you got a fresh sandwich, bottle of drink, Mccoy crisps and a choc bar for £2.99. Dont forget your driving liscence then you can test drive anything. OH was telling me about the convertable Bentley at over 300k:eek:   ...they were there all day and had a fab time. Next one isnt till 2008 though, so if anyone an get there..its worth it!

    Breakie: Bacon Sarnie
    Lunch:Chicken salad roll
Dinner: Egg and Oven Chips, salad

    Anyway, have to go.

    Hugs

Thanks for telling me about Mr Ted Shez. Not normally a cat lover (allergic to them and next doors thinks my garden is a litter tray) but he looks a darling I'm sure he doesn't do horrid things like that ;) )
Haven't posted piccies of the fence yet, but I will once I've sussed out my new phone (only digital camera here ;) ) I did get my DS to take a piccie of my feet and legs earlier just to prove to you how mucky I've got doing all this
Catowen - I tried carrots once. Bleurgh! They were skinny things (a pencil was fatter) and tasted real bitter. I hope you have much more success than me. I'm sure everyone will want to see:p :rotfl:
Churchmouse - make that two griddles, don't I get one for providing the recipie? No? Oh well, it was worth a shot :D
Twink - hmm, couldn't read your post properly... did it say something about lettuce?
Nicki - I do h ope your DD gets over it soon. It's a horrid thing to have in this heat. My DS3 had a particularly bad dose last summer - cut our holiday short, and he very nearly ended up in hospital. The other two have both had it, but very mild. You couldn't see his skin for spots and he was almost deliriouse.
So glad it's over, and I am full of sympathy for you trying to keep your patience:A

Took a bit of rubbish to the 'local' (ie miles away) 'recycle/dump site. Turns out it had moved (luckily not far), and that a 'Liddles' had been built onroute. DS1 insisted we stop and look - never again! I know that people rave about the place but I spent £5 on rubbish!
Ordered my 'bark' for the garden. Not quite play bark but seems very good all the same. Apparently it's what all the pubs use
Also bought a few herbs. Rosemary, mint (going to plant in a pot in the ground to 'contain' it) and thyme. Also got some 'pineapple sage' and some basil - will keep the basil in the house as apparently not quite as hardy.
Soil h as been dug to about roughly 1+1/2 feet, so going to put the sifted stones in the bottom and then replace the soil. From what I've read herbs do better in low nutrient soil. Anyone know if honeysuckle likes the same? I thought it's be nice to grow some up the fence.
The garden center had some gorgeouse jasmin growing over a 7 foot arch and as it was late afternoon the scent was amazing. Price tag was rather shocking - couple of hundred quid... but it was sensational.
It's the pets in these centers that I really feel for. One of them has rabbits, and in fairness they do have fans on them, but it's still sweltering there.
    Sorry, I'm waffling :o
Bargain Rzl I've got my fingers crossed for you in the hope that you get an answer tomorrow - preferrably first thing!
    Hugs to all,
    Kaz x
Ps - has anyone who has the pani BM tried the 'malted loaf'? I made one last night and it is absolutely divine!

Kaz, I think realistically I'm expecting a call between 12 and 3 (as my contact at the HA is out on viewings elsewhere in the morning) ... He told me to call him if I haven't heard from him by 3:30  ... I just want to know one way or the other before the weekend :)
