Afternoon all. Late post today for me as I've been busy and OH is off today.

Went to DD's prize assembly but she didn't get anything. Parents evening last night more than made up for it though so we'll get her a treat at the weekend (after OH has been paid). She's going into a class where she'll be mixing with year 2 kids so hopefully she'll be great next year and make more new friends :D

Been to banks to play around with money. Found out our loan amount still over 2K :o Not too bad as I know we won't make the final payment until December 2007  Just like to keep a check on it. Also got OH to add me to DD's savings account so I can withdraw money for her. She's got over £130 in it now so should be very happy :j

Bought MIL her birthday pressies (£70ish, RRP £120ish) and SIL x 2 will be coughing up their share so quite happy. Also bought DD a blackout blind for her bedroom so hopefully she'll be able to sleep.

Got to go pick DD up now. Later

Hello all, a scorcher here in Shropshire..... 32 degrees outside!

We had DD's teddy bear's picnic with playgroup this morning. A most jolly affair. And I made the other mother's giggle with the sandwiches I'd cut out with teddy bear biscuit cutters :)

I sold a DVD on Amazon last night, it's the first time I've tried this. Seemed fairly easy and it was only collecting dust in this house. I think I may do a sort out of books and list a few more.

This afternoon is a very hectic one ..... NOT ! We've erm ... played trains, done jigsaws, eaten raspberries / ice lollies and muffins. Anything to basically avoid DD going out in the heat.

B - nothing, too busy sorting out picnic
    L - picnic
D - for DD will be fish / new pots / broccoli, for us  . Too early for us to eat the same thing. Although we may eat the same later ... oh I'm wittering!

SnowyOwl - I hope Ted returns soon safe and sound.
I haven't seen Fred all day ... but that's nothing unusual, he will have found himself a cool spot somewhere.

Cha97 - I feel for you in this heat, I really do ... I was pg with dd in the Summer of 2003, it was atrocious .. made worse the week of the 100 deg .. when our fridge/freezer broke the day after I'd filled it completely and DH was in the US.

Plan for this evening - finances and watering the garden before it completely shrivels up and dies.

Spoke to my dad's doctor this afternoon and he can stay where he is at least for the next week and then they will review the situation.

Pleased I do not have to get him moved from the hospice just yet as he feels safe and secure there.

    Good evening all!:hello:

I've had a lovely day! The exhibition was really very good, a wide range of styles, techniques and to my eye abilities.

No I was not wearing mummy rose-tinted glasses, my son's work really was amongst the very best!!!:D :D I felt so proud I could feel my eyes beginning to water!! And the gallery had air-conditioning!! Unlike the underground and train home!! Hot wasn't the word to describe it!

I was treated to a lovely lunch out, and cover your ears and eyes all real OSers, I got ready meals from M&S for tonight!! ( and I'm not posting an embarrassed smiley, so there! Bolshy tonight aren't I ?:rotfl: )

Hope you've had successful days and lets all hope the temp drops a bit tonight so we can get some sleep!

Thinking of Aussielass and your son, and hoping Snowy will be posting to say Ted has made his entrance!!

    Enjoy your evenings. CMxx

PS Just realised there's no post from Penny-Pincher, hope all was Ok at the hospital. Everything crossed and thinking of you!

Back again and this time I have time to read through the thread :rotfl:JSYK - I'm working my way through from the start so I'm probably going to confuse people now :rotfl:

Penny-Pincher - Could you send you SIL around here? I can't be bothered with the washing up today, or ironing :p:rotfl:

    Charlotte664 -
Short run to Tescos - cos I have forgotton more stuff! (And I went in listed up, I can't believe I left stuff off, like milk.....)
I do this all the time. I'm thinking of making up a master shopping list of what I buy every week so I don't forget basics :rotfl:

What I fail to understand is how I feel more 'refreshed' this morning having had just 5 hours sleep than I ever feel  Is this the 'optimum' sleeping time for me?
I often feel better for staying up really late into the wee small hours and then getting up at 6am. Only do it once every six weeks or so though otherwise I'm likely to strangle someone due to sleep deprivation :rotfl:

Aussie lass - hope you DS feels better soon.
Bargain Rzl - How organised are you:eek::eek:? Hope everything goes well with the flat.

Johanne - as I said in your thread on DFW :

    Snowyowl -
Hi Johanne, lovely to see you again and sounding so happy! Congrats on your blossoming relationship with your OH, he's going to be spoilt rotten once you get into that kitchen. Congratulations on your new job as well, you must be so pleased.
He is extremely lucky...I've tasted her chocolate cake and its sooooo much better than mine   :p:rotfl:

Okay, it's taken me over an hour to read the thread :o

I've still got jobs to do today and the sun is almost behind the houses out back so I'll be able to go and water the garden now (everything is wilting :o ), will have to put some washing out just can't decide whether to bother putting it out on the line, or just on the maiden

Going to the bank tomorrow to pay in my cheque which I FINALLY got today (£59.99 :D ) thats going to cover my bank shortfall and the next 2 weeks worth of shopping...in theory  Will pop into Tesco's carpark while I'm in the area and drop off some "not charity shop quality" clothing to the clothes bank, and nip along the road to the fruit shop to get more cheap fruit (only buying bananas and apples this time ;) ) Need to do some more things as well but can I remember what the h*ll they are :rotfl: Oh well. Later

Johanne - I can't upstage your big sister, but well done!

I'm exhausted after a day in the sun! I accompanied the "good" children on a trip to a large park today. A special treat for the ones that always wear school uniform, bring in their reading cards, read 3 times a week, wear PE kit etc etc. You get the picture :) Basically, this meant supervising whilst they played cricket and rounders! My idea of a perfect day at work!

We're meeting the new acting head tomorrow afternoon after work. Everyone is a little apprehensive after all the bad press that we've heard about her. However, morale is so low at the moment, that surely the grass really is greener in this respect?

I'd better go for now.
