Did anyone else get charged for listing an auction with buy-it-now as well?
If so, complain and get a refund!
    They replied to me with:
"I've reviewed your account and can confirm that listing upgrade Buy It
Now Fee has been credited to your account as one time gesture of
    goodwill for you"
    and......
It is clearly mentioned on promotion page that :

Only the basic eBay Insertion Fee will be reduced to 0 pence (£0.00).
All other eBay selling fees will still apply, including but not limited
to Final Value Fees, optional Reserve Price Fees and all Listing Upgrade
Fees such as "Gallery Plus", "Subtitle", "Bold" or "Highlight". See the
    full details about eBay fees.

However, if you read the T&C it does say:
    What's included?

    • Only items listed on eBay.co.uk using the Auction-style or Auction with Buy It Now option formats are included.
Don't let them get away with it!

I'm surprised they refunded you to be honest. Both terms state the same thing, auctions are free and the upgrade is chargeable, so whilst you can do an auction with BIN and qualify for the free listing on the auction part the BIn remains payable.

Don't read this statement in isolation "Only items listed on eBay.co.uk using the Auction-style or Auction with Buy It Now option formats are included." , it doesn't say the uplift to BIN is free as well it just says that auction format is included.

I can see where you're coming from Soolin but....

If after a meal out, you were offered complementary cheese OR complementary cheese and biscuits, you would be expecting to be charged for the biscuits?? I think not.

Their bookings were up some 14% and I'll bet their revenue is up too despite the "free" listings.

Exactly. Who do you think the main benefactor is from the "free" listing days?!!

So many people just see the "F" word, and jump in expecting to get owt for nowt, not realising that ebay make far more in revenue from final value fees than they do with insertion fees. This also goes to explain why they seem so reluctant to remove the thousands of "private seller" listings that are on 24hour auto-relists.

It was clearly written in the conditions of this offer so I'm afraid you haven't much of a complaint

Well ebay must have been feeling a bit guilty about it all as not only did I get a reply they have refunded my insertion fees too!

Hopefully if a lot of people complained they might not exclude Turbo Lister from the next Free listing offer?

    Oh, for !!!!'s sake.

The sooner ebay stand by what they say, the better. "I couldn't be arsed to read the Ts+Cs" shouldn't mean "The Ts+Cs won't apply if I complain".

I wonder how I'd get on if I complained that I'd been charged because I "hadn't noticed" that business sellers were excluded.

Calm down dear, it's only an insertion fee...

Just wait for the FVF tantrums to start!
