Does free listing mean that Buy-it-Now is free, formatting and scheduled starts are free too?

    Cheers

Does anyone know if for the free listing on Sunday you can start your item at any price, or does free listing only apply if the item starts at 99p? Thanks

As per announcement free listings regardless of start price as long as category is eligible:

If anyone is planning on adding extra photos via photobucket then I would do it with a glass of wine in one hand and something interesting on your ipod to listen to. It's so slow today it is barely usable, I'm just glad that I only have a couple of tricky items that need more than one photo.

I'm sure selling fees have doubled since I first started selling.

I'm pretty sure you are right (if not under estimating) - and I've maybe been using it for only 4 or 5 years! However they are aware they have a captured market as no other auction site is well enough known and subscribed to enough to make it worth using - ebay win each and every time!

Two words to bear in mind with the promotion - "loss" and "leader".
And also consider "bait" and "switch".

Bait and switch might be a bit harsh.

Possibly, but there is very little mention of the final value fees in any of the promotional emails, and that is where ebay make their money from.

Also consider how many people will just relist any unsold items later in the month, and pay full price on insertions.

Give it a few weeks, and there will be the usual threads of "I can't believe how much I was charged to sell"
