Free listing day TODAY

  • Wish I had read this thread earlier, Have just been charged £11+ for relisting on a free listing day. What a con. I don't get the emails anymore and only noticed late on and tried to list some stuff quickly. Ebay is as bad as Ryanair for moving the goal posts to try and catch you out.

Glad to see that I wasn't the only one caught out and annoyed by listing with Turbo Lister and being charged!!

I think it was rather sneaky of ebay so I have sent them an email of complaint. I will wait and see if they get back to me, although in the past I have found their customer service when you complain rubbish......so I won't hold my breath!! :rotfl:

It was clearly written in the conditions of this offer so I'm afraid you haven't much of a complaint

So you wrote to complain you didn't read the offer terms? It wasn't even small print as it was clearly stated in the exclusions list.

Has anyone got any idea when the next free listing day will be?
  • There seems to be a lot of people supporting Ebay, but casual sellers should not have to read the fine print (or even the medium print) every single time they list something, just to find out if Ebay has surreptitiously made some exclusions.

To me, the only purpose in Ebay doing this is to catch people out, rather than there being a commercial reason for doing so. I'm afraid this appears to be the 21st century was of conducting business for some organisations, with banks, utilities and cheap airlines (as already mentioned) being among the major culprits.

I was not a victim btw so no axe to grind.
What is happening to the English Language? These are not isolated, but repeated every day.
'Definate', 'Aswell', 'Rediculous', 'Payed'...and the best of all 'Could Of'. How can anyone think that 'Could Of' can actually mean anything. You may as well write 'Could Zebra' for all the sense it makes.

When you've been around on ebay for a while you'll learn to read everything and never make assumptions. This is not the first time that ebay have imposed certain exclusions on offer days and it won't be the last.

Its like everything you should always read the terms and conditions, ebay always has terms and conditions on its free listing days.

I think its wrong that turbo lister wasnt included because ive always used that or auctiva for free listing days before so i can get everything on the week before and then just upload them but I am glad that i read the t&cs and used this forum so i didnt waste my time putting htem on turbo lister to then have to upload them all.
  • If we all did exactly as we should there wouldn't be the need for forums and money saving tips to help us out. We all have different strengths and it doesn't help when you are told what you should have done as you already know that. It is a hard lesson when you are trying to make some money to help get by.
