Keep meaning to say, I made OH very happy yesterday - made a leek & bacon pudding for tea....we were a little irritated by the rattly plate underneath it as it steamed, so we went for a brisk walk & for a quick beer, but it was very very nice!!

Feeling all sleepy now I'm full of warm soup.

Molly I hope you managed to get your DD safely to and from her exam and that it went well, likewise Poppy for your DS

    Hi Thrifty

Mumof2 I find Martha Hill Gardeners Handcream great for overnight (a bit too rich for daytime). A drop or two of oil (eg rose hip but almond or even olive will do) rubbed in under cream helps too.

Neutrogena does a great handcream. It can be a bit greasy but quickly absorbs and you only have to use a bit.

Neutrogena products are fabulous, I like the hand cream and also the big tub of somethingor other balm. I think it's comfort balm. It's not a thick cream. Handcream is rich.

I've been for my acupuncture for the double tennis elbow. Painful time today, not usually too bad. I was daft enough to do Tesco afterwards as well, should have just come home, but I was there and I had looked up what offers there were and needed to top up on staples not available at Aldi. Bertolli pesto is half price and long dated. got some small tins of corn on offer, work out slightly cheaper than basics, also don't need to open a big one when a little one will do. Flora Buttery is on half price. I wouldn't pay full price! Cheap dishwasher tabs but only two boxes as the woman in front of me had her hand on the other two! They worked out at 6p each! Branded too. Cathedral city was on half price so will grate some of that for the freezer to put on pizzas.

Has anyone used edamame (soya) beans? they were in the freezer cab next to the broad beans. Also got bags of frozen fish for fish pie. Has anyone had 'arctic char'? Pack says it's salmon type. maybe we'll have fish pie today. More comfort food! Or maybe a big pot of soup. I have lots in! :rotfl:

Oooooh I love the frozen soya beans. Love broad beans, but soya are even nicer. Use them anywhere you'd use broadbeans. Oh and lovely defrosted and used in a cold mixed bean salad with chopped spring onions, lentils, peppers etc. Only downside is the price, but they do them on offer sometimes :D

    :hello:

Thank you! The pair of us haven't stopped grinning since yesterday!! Can't say when it is yet, as we haven't yet told all the family, but it's during the Lights at the Town Hall :D

When's your big day, is it this year?

The Town Hall - that was my first choice, although H2B persuaded me into the Euston.. still, I really like that too, good job really :rotfl:It is May 1st this year, 15 weeks on Saturday  So by my reckoning we have at least 3 OS weddings in 2010? Could be more, I don't always keep up in here as much as I would like to.

Bathroom is done, apart from what I suspect is DD1's hairspray on the UPVC window frame. Anyone know how to shift it?

    Hi everyone.
Am sitting in a freezing classroom (again) .
After some serious nagging(not that my precious flower would ever nag:rotfl:) to "see how everybody is" I have managed to get on.:p

Ann is lovely but a gymnast she is not:rotfl::rotfl:In fact she is more like the love child of Mr Bean and Frank Spencer:rotfl::rotfl: Clumsy doesn't come close
I am 100% sure that you won't get the full true version of the recent events so I feel as a loyal husband who is devoted to upholding the honour and truthfulness of the daily I must tell everything:rotfl:

As you know, we got our laptop back and everything was peachy. I am also fairly sure that you know we needed a new charger that worked and didn't cost the earth(not as easy as you may think)

When we put the laptop in for mending the very nice technician did a running repair on the charger and soldered it for us. She also told us to get a charger from Amazon as it would be cheaper to buy from there than from her.:T which we got arround to doing that a week last Monday.

So.......Tuesday School was closed and we are both in the living room. Ann on the laptop, post comes she gets up to see what has arrived and(please try to picture the scene its a classic!) wraps her foot round the laptop lead pulling out the repair rendering it useless. then.......trying to dislodge her foot she steps back(with cord still round her foot) and stands on her new(to her) mobile phone smashing it to smithereens:T:T
    Classic.
We still don't have a charger and couldn't check with Amazon as we couldn't get online last week. I am sure it is due to the bad weather but will be very glad when it arrives.

It really was one of the funniest things I have seen in a long time. To be fair she is still having treatment for the toe although only hte big toe now. She will never have feeling in the toe but at least she kept it BUT.....she really is not graceful (when she was a child she put the pitchfork through her foot five times that she can remember:confused:)

Other than that things are fine. Cats well, Ann fine the op is pencelled in for March but not totally fixed however for some strange reason she is not in as much pain since her big accident she must be walking in a different way:confused:

Ann does miss being on here and talks about loads of you on a regular basis. Hopefully she will be back by the end of the week(tease her)

I know she would want me to send her love to you all as a group and to various individuals but I don't have a list and don't really have the time to go through the entire thread.

So please have a hug from Ann.

Better get on. Do take care and please watch it on the roads quite nasty today.
    Stay warm.
    Mark xx

    Hi Mark,

I'd been wondering where she was - I saw the post after the repair and then silence. Thanks for the update.

I'm not the most graceful of people either (my fall during our Roman holiday has passed into family legend) so I sympathise.
