Late post for me today - been a very full and busy one. Two more children for tuition this afternoon - I think I'm going to really enjoy it! It felt so good being back in a school environment, I've missed it dreadfully!
Treated myself to some wool to crotchet a throw for the bed in DGD's room. Haven't made anything with crotchet since the pram cover I did for her father 34 years ago!!
We've had a mixture of sleet and snow - sadly everything is really slippy again this evening - dread to think what it'll be like in the morning. I'd just managed to get the car back onto the drive today after a week of not being able to - just in from a church meeting and couldn't get it up the slope again, so back on the road once more!
Need to read through the thread to see what you've all been up to.Resolution:

Hello, oh what a busy day, hope everyone is well as not been able to catch up properly yet. Hope everyone is being careful in the lovely weather we are having. We've not been so bad last 2 days, slight splutter of snow tonight but nothing major. Just the ice issue now. I'm really hoping the bins are emptied tomorrow, we just emptied 28 bags from the garage of recycling/rubbish onto the pile with everyone elses, I'm not putting it back in the garage for another week (been 4 now)
Meeting this morning (picked up a few bits from £1 shop too) then put some pictures up with DPs help. We never had photos of the boys up in the old house even if we were there two years as it didn't feel like 'home' being private rented but enjoying it now. Door curtain making a lot of difference, just waiting for the window curtains now....hoping Dunelm will have them in on Friday.
Tea was steaks (weren't defrosted last night) trimming them I was a little more 'ruthless' and managed to get a dish of steak pieces which is now in the SC with some bendy veg which I was considering binning so a free meal there which is always good. Dry fried the fat so dog now has some special treats too.
Tomorrow in a meeting all day, so won't get much done as it's the mad headless chicken routine of cubs, swimming, cubs on the evening. Take care all x x x xOne day I might be more organised...........

Evening everyone
Busy day, ironing done:A, clothes sorted now, just need another bag out of the loft:o, went to get the chest x-ray done, its a "just a check as I have a cough which won't go atm" visited Dad, 89, who was fast asleep and wasn't going to wake up for anything (he has dementia and bed ridden in a home), then called and saw our gorgeous DGNeice & DGNephew, who is 9months and just moving around now, and has a very infectious chortle, will miss them while we are away, and he will have changed so much before March.
Weather now looking like a very wet journey, and a wet day around London on Saturday, continuing wet all through France, and the bonus is a forecast of 14-15 and sun when we get there for Thurs & Fri.
Nite Nite all - hope the roads are better for you in the morning.

Why is it I have less time now I am retired then when I worked?0 -
just a quick question- how much porridge oats do you chuck in with your mince when making a cottage pie type mixture? have never done this before and want to have a go.
Thrifty - I just usually put in a handful, it helps to thicken it too.0
