Lesley Great to 'see' you again  What a Christmas & New Year though  Hope you get the laptops sorted and that everyone recovers soon. It was listening to the news about Burnley FC that made me think about you - that & peering up at the hills from here & seeing all the snow :rotfl:
Well I'm back from shopping now & have also paid another £10 into our Christmas 2010 savings account :j Going to prep the dinner then my Dad is coming soon for his hair cutting. I clipper all the boys/men, except DS2 who has a 'trendy do', so it doesn't cost much :money: I also want to go online & order Economy Gastronomy from the library. I enjoyed the series even though there wasn't much in it that I don't already do, some of the recipes looked nice & the couple I've remembered have worked out well & were eaten by everyone.
It's snowing again here  I sincerely hope that they don't close the school/college again as DS2 has 3 GCSE modules to take this week and he's been revising hard for them. Also like Thriftlady I've just about had enough of them all loafing around all day being bored & eating the contents of the fridge in 2 days flat :eek:0 -
Morning all,
More snow for us here and its still coming down!! Getting heavier by the minute.
Daughter off school today so we are pretty much stuck in the house, plenty of ironing to keep me 'entertained'.
Freezer gave up yesterday so all the contents are at mothers which means dinner tonight will be cupboard mixed with fridge...daughter is voting pasta bake. Simple, tasty and a great chance to use up veggies that are slightly going over, also i make one big enough for 6 so that'll be lunch tomorrow too.Little_Miss_Bubbles

Just couldn't get to sleep at all till about 4am this morning, then I was woken up by the delivery man brinking the slanket I ordered, which is crAp!!I thought it'd be really warm n cosy, but it is made to kind of wrap around a size 8 person, not my size and i'm not massive any more;)I thought it'd go over my head and not have any open bits IYSWIM..............
Anyway.................it feels freezing here today, so deffo not going swimming brrrrrrrrrrr, but might pop to Mr T's later for a list of offers I got off madaboutbargains site;)

Morning all.
More snow here overnight, so no chance of it thawing just yet.
Feeling very down today. It took me a while to get out of bed, as my back was so painful and any slight movement was aggravating it.
Once DD got up, she was able to sort out painkillers for me and they started to help after a while.
I've managed to get a few things done this morning - cooked the rest of the chicken tikka from yesterday and DD helped me make some meatballs and a greek yoghurt in the easiyo. We've also put the bm on, so we can have a fresh loaf later.
I've come back to bed now as I feel really exhausted through not sleeping
Japanese was cancelled due to the weather and although the girls were a bit disappointed, it worked out well as I may have had to cancel anyway.
On the good news front, we won a family ticket to Legoland yesterday, so DD2 was pleased. Just need to sort a date out to go :j
Hope you all have a good day.

Good to see you Lesley. :hello:
Hope you feel better soon Pipkin. x
Good luck to Miss Tired Mum. x
I'm in the office today, wading through piles of receipts and invoices and scanning the bank statements I swore I was going to do as they came in.
Should be here until about 2pm then home to finish the housework. Managed to get a fair bit done before I left for work this morning but there will be a dishwasher to empty and a washing load to hang up when I get home.
I did a bit of batch cooking last night and made salmon fishcakes for tonight's tea and a sausage casserole for the freezer. Also had some corned beef hash leftover which will go into the freezer too.
Baked an apple and date loaf and banana muffins as well.
Joined the girls in having boiled eggs and soldiers for breakfast, lunch will be HM veg soup for everyone.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Hey Miss Bubbles where are you? I am in West Mids too :j
Still snowing  H rang to say they might shut the firm early - it makes you realise how lucky he is working for private firm - lets face it you lovely ladies (and gents) that work for NHS and other such branches of Government don't get sent home early.
Just moved my cooker to clean behind it. OMG it was a disgraceI can't remember the last time I cleaned behind there but it was filthy. Now clean - must try and do it every couple of months.
DS gone round to play at grannies and I shall join him with DD for lunch in a while - got to vac upstairs and clean the bathroom. Towels are in the wash. Still keeping to my cleaning rota which I am pleased about
Moved the contents of my old freezer to my new one - boy is it big :T Its fab having sooo much space. It's got a lock on it which is a good thing. Although the kids are never in the garage unsupervised it is large enough to hide a body  So I guess I know what I'll be doing with H next time he's in a mood in the morning
Had a nose at BBC to see the news - just looking at those pictures of those poor people in Haiti
NPM - Sorry to hear about your OH's van and that you've got DS's cold too xxx
Pipkin - hugs to you xxx
Take care all you guys with black ice xx
right off to heave vac upstairs - why aren't Dysons lighter :rolleyes:I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knifeLouise Brooks

"I suppose everyone has been reading or hearing about the trials and tribulations of Burnley FC and the loss of their much loved but not reciprocated manager. The town is awash with speculation of how much blood will be shed at the Bolton game due in a couple of weeks."
Lesley - you're making me feel guilty now cos we've been Bolton fans all our lives.I must admit to being surprised when Owen Coyles name was first mentioned, but he did play for us and has always been held in great affection,so perhaps that swayed it.I was thinking about you when the decision was made- I know its not nice losing a well loved manager.I really hope you get someone good in who can carry on with the good work Burnley have done so far.
As for the game-well,we'll be in our seats as usual so I hope there isnt any trouble, most of our fans seem a decent bunch but there's always a minority who want to spoil it.
As to the diet, only 3lbs put on is OK,you'll soon lose that when you put your mind to it- I sometimes read the low carb thread and know you did really well.I usually lose the plot in winter and start craving spuds etc.
Csarina- hope you like the cottage and the viewing goes well.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)0 -
Decided not to go and visit my friend, heard that the roads in Milton Keynes were chaos, and it is still coming down where I am as well as there. Had a catch up on phone instead!
Got to go to tesco, DS is cooking at school tomorrow, and needs 1 rasher of unsmoked bacon. I am a veggie and don't cook meat for the kids (unless it comes already on a pizza or something), so am hoping I can just buy one rasher rather than a packet that will get wasted.
Other than that, am going to stay warm and snuggly inside!
NPM - sorry to hear about the van, it doesn't sound too good.
tired mum - fingers crossed for the exam.0
