  • Hate to admit I fell for the same scam. C-C-S.CO.UK CONSUMER CREDIT SERVICES (now recruiting according to their website, commission based) stated that I would only be charged once the paperwork was agreed etc, however they charged as soon as they had sent it out. Quick check of the paperwork and I immediately asked for a refund. Sent off their refund request which they sent out, was told I had to wait 28 days (until september 7th). Fumed, however my fault for being daft and giving out bank details. Lesson learned.

Waited 28 days, no money so on the phone. They like the others said it was some banking error. Waited 2 periods of 5 days while they 'tried' in vain to send money back. Then they said they have sent me 2 cheques which haven't arrived. One by recorded delivery. No show.

I phoned again and asked for a cheque sent special delivery so we could track the whole journey of these mystery letters which keep vanishing, at which point the customer services got very nervous, told me to stop ringing, to put a letter of complaint in and then hung up the phone! Odd. Or a scam to deny refunds?

Phoned up consumer direct who told me to put it in writing to the company and phone back in 15 days if I dont get anywhere. She also said it might be worth trying the visa chargeback. Sent letter off including complaints.

Phoned bank up today and they WILL REFUND THE MONEY FOR ME and claim it back themselves with their fraud investigation team, given the refund was overdue by 3 weeks after the initial 28 days!

Phone your bank and ask about visa chargeback. They will help you.

Also I checked the money processors for the delightful c-c-s.co.uk and it is creditg dot com a specialist debt collection company. maybe that is why they have difficulty in paying refunds, they collect the money through these people. As for the case of the mysterious cheques, thats another matter. Maybe there is a rich postie in llanelli.

ask your visa supplier for chargeback and explain they are fraudulently with-holding refunds. all the best.
  • I too have been taken in by this company, I tried to cancel within half an hour of the phone call but the company had already taken the money from my account, I went through the refund proceedure and lots of calls to the company, and waited the 28 days only to be told my card would not accept a refund so they asked for a second card which i gave them, I was told to wait 3-5 working days for it to be credited, I phoned on the 5th day only to be told I needed to wait 7 days. I again phoned to be told that the 2nd card would not accept the refund, I contacted my bank who said there has been no activity from anyone regardingrefunds! they offered a cheque but after reading all the comments on here I said I would go to Llanelli to pick it up, I was told i would need to wait 2 days for the cheuque to be posted to them?????? I too have contacted Trading standards and if there is no cheque on Wednesday will persue a claim through them. People should steer clear of this company, they harp on about the 2 day cooling off period in case people have doubts but its all a sham as the money is taken there and then - you have no option to change your mind, their customer service assistants are a joke I was told by one "it was my fault for giving them my card number" they openly fob you off knowing they have no intention of refunding your money!

rite i payed £199.99 to the aboved named company to try and get my loans cancled, then i decided that i didnt wish to go ahead with it anymore.

we had the same problem which went on for 4 months with many phone calls, until finally we said that we would take them to the small claims court if my money was not returned. We had a cheque the following day. Good luck!
  • Went to Llanelli to pick my cheque up, after double checking the address with the customer service adviser who confirmed it was 15-16 cowell st, when I got to the Address suprise suprise they are not based there, luckily a local shop owner gave me directions to their office - ( above a tattoo shop in Castle Buildings, Murrey Street). My cheque was there waiting although not sure they expected me to find them!
  • I have had phone calls from this company and was almost on the verge of handing details over before my husband said to go away and research it... glad i did now!
Just out of interest, has anybody actually paid the £199 and used the service that they are selling?
I can see that most of the problem is claiming back your £199 when you receive your information pack, but there seems to be no info on people being ripped off once they decided to go through with it all?
Has anybody used the service successfully?!
  • I have no idea how these jokers have got my mobile number but they dont seem to take no for an answer..STOP RINGING ME

  • Hi there

I've had an absolute nightmare with this company, I also fell for their scam, don't know why! I usually hang up on such calls so I know it was incredibly stupid. It was back in August when it first started and I got a refund last week. I spent hours on the phone to them, I was spoken to aggressively, hung up on many times and lied to constantly. I went to trading standards who passed on the complaint to the welsh trading standards. I'd kept a log of all the phonecalls and they asked me to give a statement. Strangely after doing that I randomly received the refund.

I strongly recommend getting in touch with the Welsh trading standards as it seemed the refund was a direct result of me doing so.

Good luck and don't let it go!! They are thieves!

    Kind regards

Ok now I have your attention.

This company that you want to use to help clear your debts or recover PPI.

You yourself can do this and do not need to pay for this advice.

PPI Claims are a simple letter, stamp and an envelope.

Credit Card and Loans are alot tougher, they need to be pre 2007 agreements to have a better chance not to be enforceable.

You write a leter to your provider and basically ask them for a valid consumer credit agreement as per law set in the CCA 1974. You will need to find a template either on here or CAG.

You then find out if valid, if invalid you can stop all payments, you WILL get a DEFAULT on your crdeit file, this will come off in 6 years time.
I all have learnt is from others on many sites.
    Seek legal help if unsure.
Dont pay Private Parking tickets - they are mere invoices.

  • Oh great.

These guys called me and I stumped up £199 after successfully claiming back my own bank charges a few years previously, so I knew that loopholes could be found in financial agreements. However, I am a lot busier now than I was back then, and I figured that a couple of hundred quid is a small price to pay to get rid of EGG, who have been money grabbing b*****s. I would not normally condone getting into debt and then wriggling out of it via aloophole, but when i took my Egg Card it was 14.6% or thereabouts, and each time i was unable to make a payment, they ramped up the interest until the were fleecing me on a £3600 balance for 29.9%.

Right, I thought - I'd like to wipe that smug look off their faces. Agreement prior to 2007? Check. PPI mis-sold? Negative. Still, I hope that they could do something. When the paperwork came through, I realised that on top of their £199 initial charge, successful claims are then subject to a further 25% commission, making a very tidy profit for them! At this point I considered pursuing myself again, but then thought that what the heck, 75% back for doing nothing is not a bad deal, and I'bve already paid them £199 so let them do something for the money!

Soon after I had gathered the considerable paperwork required and submitted it, I was sent a letter saying that I had no case and that the £199 would be refunded. Sadly I didn't keep this. A month or so later I called them and asked what was happening with this. They said the refund was on the way. This was a few months back now, and I suddenly realised that this had never been actioned by them. I have been trying to call them on and off for the last couple of weeks but never get through - i assume that they have realised that if they switch off incoming calls, then they don't have to deal with pesky letters from people asking for their money back...

Having read this thread I am slapping my forehead and wondering what to do next. I think the best action by the looks of things is to send a recorded delivery letter giving them 14 days to pay before taking civil action. I assume that this will make them sit up and pay the money back...?

Do you think i should also contact Welsh Trading Standards?
