  • I've just spoken to these people today and wish I'd seen these posts first. I felt uneasy once I'd given card details and can now see why. What can actually be done legally against companies like this. Surely you must get your money back eventuallyas they offer the chance to withdraw???
  • For those who have been caught and paid there £199.99 on a credit card have you tried to claim it back via Section 75 through your credit card company. As CCS are not providing the service they said they would and are then dragging their heals over refunding I think you might have a case to get the CC firm to refund it.

    Worth a try.

  • Hi, I found this forum looking for info on ccs in Llanelli. I too was contacted over 4 months ago about reclaiming ppi. After paying my fee I recieved all the bumf and decided to cancel the process and sent a cancellation form back expecting a refund as promised. No refund turned up and have been phoning pretty much every week for 3 months now. Different excuse every week for non payment of refund so last week I sent a letter of complaint and still no reply to that letter. In the last phone call I made, on the 6th Sept, they told me a cheque had been sent on the 27th Aug. Suprise suprise no cheque has turned up yet. I will be phoning them again tomorrow. If nothing comes of it tomorrow I will be getting in touch with Watchdog and a welsh consumer Tv show, The Ferret. I'm not going to let them get away with this, it's pathetic the way that they can do this:mad:
  • Hi

My calls from this number started last week and are still continuing. I thought that a quick check with Companies House may be of benefit and the following is a copy of the information - note that the registered nature of business is "7486 - Call centre activities" - no mention of financial services or claims - presumably we can complain to Ofcom about cold calling by a Call Centre Company:

    Company No 06082721

    Name & Registered Office:
    CONSUMER CREDIT SERVICES LIMITED
    c/o CHARLES & CO, 3 MURRAY STREET
    LLANELLI, CARMARTHENSHIRE
    WALES, SA15 1AQ Status: Active
    Date of Incorporation: 05/02/2007
    Country of Origin: United Kingdom
    Nature of Business (SIC(03)):
    7486 - Call centre activities

    Cheers for now

    Graymac

  • I think we're it's quite clear that everybody should stay away from this company, and many others. What isn't clear is who can help get your money back if you've already been sucked in???
The fact that they offer refunds etc if you want to cancel and then aren't doing so is surely illegal? Can anybody actually offer solid advice on how to get money back?

Send a letter before action giving them 14 days to pay up. When they don't file with the small claims courts - money claim on line - they will have to pay the £199 plus the court cost which will probably cost around 30 - £50 (unless prices have gone up) or if on certain benefits it may be free.

I would also be reporting this to Trading Standards, they, I should imagine will be interested in this company.

Only send the letter before action if you intend to carry through the claim with the courts.

I really do feel its time to take action as some of the posters have been messed around for a good 3/4 months, it's not god enough they should have had their money well before now.

Someone else mentioned section 75 with credit cards but remember some visa debit cards carry the same/similar terms, so worth a try with with these cards as well
Wow, I got 3 *, when did that happen :j:T:p
It is not illegal to open another persons mail unless you intend to commit fraud - this is frequently incorrectly posted:)
    I live in my head - I find it's safer there:p
  • I had these clowns on the phone again today and asked them to stop calling me. When I asked for the person's name so I knew who I had asked to sort this out he wouldn't give it to me, which I said wasn't fair as he had my name. When I asked to talk to a manager he wouldn't let me as they were "very busy" (obviously lots of complaints). When I asked to wait for a manager he said he couldn't keep the phone line tied up. At this time I told him that if he was telling me about his products or services this would surely keep the line tied up. At this point I asked him all about the services. It took about 15 minutes of me asking inane questions about the ins and outs of their services and him not giving me much of an answer as he knew I wasn't interested for him to lose his patience with me and actually put the phone down on me! Hopefully this will stop them calling me as luckily I don't actually need this kind of service.
