  • I went for my induction at Curves this morning. I spoke to the lady for 5/10 minutes and then decided that it wouldn't be for me.

I am going to join the GlasgowClub, that is the one run by Culture & Sport, Glasgow City Council.

Does anyone use the GlasgowClub, how do they find it? Do they do classes or gym or mixture of both?

  • Forget Joining Fees and negotiating contracts etc .... There are no catches here at Pedal Studio which is pay as you go

    FREEEEEE ONLY to MSE !!

If you tell Pedal Studio you heard about them through Money Saving Expert, they will give you a weeks free Spinning and you can go as often as you want.

So visit them at the pedalstudio .co . uk

May I suggest that for anyone who is keen on just a cardio work out - try pedalstudio

They have a great intro offer of Spin as much as you like for 7 consecutive days for £10 - quote MoneySavingExpert and you get this FREE !!!!

Then it is £5 a spin on a Pay as You go basis - if you buy a 10 ride pack.

    No Joining fee
    No Monthly fee
No catches with contracts - No Contracts

Just a simple pay as you go system

And they give you the amazing Suunto Team Heart rate system to use which gives you feedback sent to your personal email address after each ride.

easy as - cheap as beers !

    £5 a 45min Spinning session - Pay as You Go !

  • Hi,

Is anyone on here a LA Fitness Member at Ewell branch?
I understand there is a mates rates deal going on there at the moment, but you have to be introduced to get the same rate as the member. The benefit to the person that introduces you is 20% of their current deal. I think the deal has been extended, as was supposed to end at end of Feb.

Mostly interested in All London clubs (except South Ken) membership, as am in and out of town, but with a 1 month cancellation policy.

    Cheers

Hi I use Glasgow Club, it can be busy so it would be good if you find a mix of classes and gym times that suit you, I use 4-5 classes a week and find it good value for the money, also if you can use several clubs it will be easier to work out when to go ie; when its quieter

It's a bit variable depending which centers are near to you. I decided it wasn't for me and joined Virgin active instead, which I'm really happy with. If you call them or book on their website they will give you a tour and probably a free pass as well to try it out. I would really recommend them. I do classes, use the gym, pool and climbing wall. They are here:

  • i am thinking of joining Nuyuu as they have a special offer on at the mo thats no joining fee and for £34.99 a month peak membership they are chucking in the vibro gym and Sunnto, which is the heart rate training. thus saving £10 a month.

However it has been a long time since joining a gym and I was a bit concerned about there terms and con. Perhaps they are pretty standard??

    https://join.nuyuu.com/join/TermsAndConditions.aspx

If anyone else wouldnt mind having a quick read and giving their opinions, perhaps it a pretty standard contract

    the points I have issues with are;

    MEMBERSHIP
1 (b) does this mean they can completely change the terms of the contract i have signed up to incl putting the price up and changing what i have access to?

    LIABILITY
1(b) So even if they are at fault, for instance if they handed out a spare key to a locker that you had stuff in and that stuff was stolen, they have absolved themselves??

    GENERAL

2 (b) Huh? Are they saying that even if at fault they will not be held responsible for injury or death!!

    THIS AGREEMENT

1.So they can just change all the rules??

    2. Are they saying that if a court finds any part of this contract unenforceable, they will STILL charge the full duration of the contract ie 12 months
  • I would like to join esporta and have had a trial there previously.

Just wondering how much i could expect to pay for the LEEDS city centre one. I read earlier that a poster managed £44 a month which seems more reasonable. Anyone know if esporta do a shorter than 12 months contract?
