If you happen to have private health insurance through PruHealth, then through their Vitality program you can score some nice discounts on memberships with Virgin, LA Fitness or Nuffield. The best part is that you don't have to pay any joining fee or be stuck in a contract.
I've signed up for Virgin through PruHealth and am paying £35/mo (compared to the usual £88 fee!) with access to any club, except for the handful of 'Classic' clubs in Kensington, Twickenham, etc...
The clubs don't have access to the rates -- you have to sign up through Pru and your DD gets paid to Pru. Best way to get access to a nice gym without the hassle of a contract!0 -

Ooooh- someone on the Pru programme who can hopefully answer my questions!
Do you pay twice- once to Pru and once to Virgin? or is it both and only one cost?
How much do you pay Pru? Am wondering if its worth me joining, I have health issues which I would imagine would bump up the price, but what if I didn't mention them for the sake of getting the gym membership cost down and then just never put in a claim for anything? or is this highly illegal?
I am too chicken to ask Pru as I'm scared they'd mention a scary price and I'd have to make something up to say "sorry but no!" also if I let it slip I have health issues, they'd never believe me if I tried to go onto a plan in the future if they ever did restart the offer as it has been in the past (where you got free gym membership)0 -
Hi Jennie,
I have the same query as you, but looks like you do pay twice. This is what the pruhealth site says:
How much will I pay?
You pay a one off £25 activation fee to join any of our partner gyms. Then you’ll get a discount of 25% off the usual price for full monthly individual Nuffield Health Fitness & Wellbeing membership
Now, does anyone know how much is the usual rate for Nuffield gyms? (Leicester??)0 -

I am trying to sign up for the Fitness First five day free gym pass that ends on 15 Feb but it expects me to choose a club but will not present the drop down menu to choose one. Anyone else having the same problem?0

I have the same problem as well  lol. Anyway, in the T&Cs it states that the offer expires on the 15th of February. Does that mean that all 5 days must be used before this date or that you can start on the 14th and still use it for the next 4 days? Would feel quite embarrassed if I had to argue with the sales people on when the trial ends"If you have much, give of your wealth; if you have little, give of your heart"0 -

Does anyone know any decent spa/gyms (with pool, essential) in Brighton area?
All the reviews of local pools are rubbish!
