To what I know of its the same for all in regards of PPI.
You can try that email or this one here below who should get back to give you the correct contact department by email, sometimes I ask them to forward my information on by attachment and they get back either the same day to confirm they have done this or should give the details of whom to send to.

Keep on going at them, as they tend to sit on things and not pass them on to the correct department/people. If the claim is for decent amount they will drag it out before rejecting it fully.0

Am I right in thinking here that my bank (in my case the Yorkshire Bank) will have to refund me the premiums I have paid them for PPI/RPI on a loan I took out with them. I recently completed a survey on PPI/RPI and they rang me back to confirm some of my responses ie: No to the fact that the bank didn't tell me that I could have the loan without PPI/RPI and agreed to my request to cancel the policy. They have now written to me confirming this but what they haven't mentioned is whether or not they will be repaying me the premiums, in fact they seem to be saying that I have to pay for the cover despite never having claimed. Is this right?0

Hi and welcome.
Yes I believe your correct here.
If they cancel then normally they would or should I assume reduce your repayments, or some banks suggest to take out a new loan without the PPI to pay off the other..etc......
In regards of reclaiming, I would write to them with your reasons and they have 8 weeks in full to respond, once 8 weeks have passed and they do not uphold in your favour you have the right to take your complaint to the financial ombudsman service (FOS) their letter should confirm this, although sometimes you do get the opportunity to write back to them with further information.
Here is the guidelines to reclaiming, with templates etc, check this out:

Good luck, please ask for help anytime and please let us know how you get on.

got my SAR today,
a lot of paperwork,
would fill a 5 ream box for paper so probably 2500 sheets in total.
not sure how far back it goes yet as not opened it.
banked with them for 24 years so will probably go way back to before computerisation.
looking in particular the original online application (without ppi) which was refuered and then the subsequant 5 telephone conversations regarding loan from Feb 7th 12th 2005 (lucky me!!!) when the ppi was miss-sold
i'm sure i got my £10 worth, even if it's just in paper,
i will sort as suggested in a previous thread, by topic, in date order,
bank statements for all different accounts
loans, 4 in total although only disputing the latest one, happy with th eppi on the previous ones as i did not have any alternative in place.
credit card
other insurance products
what ever else i find i don't know about
any other suggestions welcome,I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
Just looked at my SAR, the lovely people from Lloyds have kindly put all the paperwork in the order i have suggested above so it saves me a job,
you guessed it
no copy of the loan application i filled in on line, not ticking the ppi box
no telephone recordings or transcripts they have refered to in their rejection letter.
they have until the 2nd March to provide me with this personal information,
does anyone have an e-mail address for the data protection people at Lloyds, if not i'll send a letter tomorrow morning.
one quick question, do they have to produce this information for a loan taken out in 2005 if they have it, even if i am claiming for a miss-sale of LPI.
just want to get my facts right before i send letter threatening a complaint for a breach of data protection act if they do not provide me with this information,
do they have to keep all information for 6 years or all information they feel relevant.
cheers in advance for your thoughts on this one.I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
HI they keep the info for 6 years from when the account was used.
Have they said that is all the info they hold. They do have up to 2nd March to respond fully. I would give them until then and if you feel they have not given you copies of everything, write again and give them one week to respond otherwise you will be sending a letter to the ICO.:mad:0 -
thanks Max
i have draughted a letter which i will send tomorrow, ant comments welcome, they have stated it is all the information they are aware of that exists, however this contradicts what i have been told (see below).Dear Geraldine,
Thank you for your prompt response for my personal information request in relation to the data protection act.
Within the request I made, I have specifically requested information relating to anything held digitally or in transcript that is about me or contains details about me. (note 4 and 6 from my original application for data.
4. Full copies or transcripts of any correspondence in postal, email or any other format which you have entered into with any individual, organization or third party which contains my personal or financial, or which pertains to me.
6. Full hard copy print outs of my personal or financial information, held in a digital, magnetic or any other format which is held in any archives, backups or other storage devices / locations.
I am lead to believe you still hold personal information in the form of taped telephone recordings and transcripts in relation to some or all of my personal loans that you have not supplied within my request for this information. In particular recordings and transcripts from Feb 2005.
I would like you to look into this for me and send me either copies of such personal data or confirmation this data does not exist. Please contact Vicki Wrathmall in your Peterlee branch who referred to this personal information in correspondence dated 8th January 2010.
I have been promised this information on 2 occasions from the Peterlee department and so far I have not received this specific information, I believe if this personal information and data exists it should have been produced by your department.
There is also information which your letter mentions is within the bundle which is clearly not there, this is information and copies of the original loan applications I have filled in, these would have been online for the most recent loan or in branch for the previous loans, all you have sent is the signed copies of the loan agreements, not the applications.
You have also not sent me any information you hold in relation to the full terms and conditions of the insurance policies which have been sent to me in the past and which I assume you would hold copies of.
Therefore please can you as a matter of urgency source this information from the relevant department and send to me under the terms of the data protection act, and my initial request for such personal information dated 18th January 2010.
Time is running out on this request as all of my personal data relating to these accounts that you hold should be provided within 40 days from receipt of my initial request, you therefore have until 2nd March 2010 to fulfill your obligation to do so.
I thank you in advance for your prompt response in this matter.I'm proud to say that the banks no longer take money from me after becoming debt free0 -
Seems good to me. You could always add on ther that if this information is not forthcoming you will complain to The Information Commissioners Office.
Good Luck.:mad:0
