I had both my slow cookers on overnight last night.:D
Dogfood in the smaller one and the last of the beetroot from the garden in the larger one.
Dogfood is now portioned up and in the freezer and the beets are skinned sliced and pickling away in the jars.
I love my sc`s

Only just bought a slow cooker (Crock pot) so enjoying trying new things in it. Going to try doing a vegetarian chilli today from a recipe on the savvyvegetarian website. It looks good & a bit different, so here's hoping it'll turn out nice!2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Hi!
Im new to slow cookers and this will be my first attempt (wish me luck!) :-)
I have two quite small pork belly mini joint rolls things that I would like to try so I have a few Qs
How long do you think would be suitable and how do I do it?
Would i still be able to get the skin crispy if i whack them in the oven for the last half hour or so?
Thanks!

Hi Kirst,
i don`t think that the skin will crisp up afterwards in the oven, i think that it will be soggy from the sc.
Why not try one and see how you like it, if you prefer it crispy do the other one in the oven.
I`d put some sage in with it and a mugfull of water, maybe some onion too to make a nice gravy afterwards.
Good luck.

Just to say that I did try the vegetarian chilli recipe from the savvyvegetarian website in my new Crockpot and it was really nice! Very filling as the recipe included bulghur which goes in at the beginning with everything else. Couldn't imagine what it would be llike as never used bulghur in this way before but we liked it & partner said he could eat it every week. I did two thirds of the quantity & that did enough to feed us, put some in freezer for another day & a big lunchbox full too.2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever

Can anyone recommend a good (basic) slow cooker receipe book? Sort of slower cooker for dummies! I have only used mine once since buying it, it is now gathering dust
