My gammon was ok but a bit of a waste adding good cider, it didn't add much to the flavour.
I'll cook it in water next time and drink the cider

I started the day off with bolognaise. I've just taken enough out to do my stuffed pasta and probably another portion for spaghetti bolognaise and added some chopped potato, beans (had no kidney beans, used a tin of rinsed baked beans :o) and some chilli powder to the remainder for chilli.

I bought two packs of chicken thighs from the Co-op today for £4 (5 thighs in each pack, so 40p a thigh!!).
I have roughly chopped a large onion and three cloves of garlic and fried them gently in a large pan with a touch of chilli powder, two teaspoons of garam masala, and a touch of turmeric. I then added five de-skinned thighs, and sealed them well, coating them with the spice mix.
I transferred the thighs to a large stockpot, and added two finely chopped carrots, and five baby aubergine (each cut lengthways in half), and fried them off.
I then added a tin of chopped tomatoes, juice of one lemon, a little water, and a small handful of rice, and put the lot in the stockpot, and switched on the slow cooker.
I add salt and a liberal amount of white pepper to the stockpot, and taste to make sure the seasoning is OK.
After fifteen minutes of simmering, I transferred the lot to the slow cooker, and will leave it on high for about four hours.
It smells good, so I hope the missus will appreciate it when she gets home.
