Cooked almost 4 kilo of Silverside in mine yesterday about 10 hrs on low - managed to buy it at Makro for £15 woopsie - Seared it all over - liberal amount of salt and straight in the slow cooker - no liquid. Ended up with half crock of stock which will make really good gravy. Now to slice it, portion it up, and freeze in gravy for lots of beef dinners.
Grandaughter has just been trying it - verdict gorgeous.

Bacon joint in mine today :D

I`ll use the stock for a soup base at a later date so`i`ll be freezing that and when the bacon is cool i`ll be slicing it as thinly as possible for sandwiches and quiche etc.

rabbit cassarole was a BIG hit! really yummy!

i put the rabbit in the slow cooker this morning on high, didnt add the veg then cos i didnt want to waste it if the rabbit was horrid!! but after 4 hrs on high the rabbit was lovely (did smell a bit strange but had the window open with it being a warm spring day so wasnt too bad!!) and cooked thro.
i took the rabbit out and added the veg- leek, onion, carrot, swead, tin toms and herbs and cooked tham on high for a couple of hours. bout an hour befor we had tea a pulled the meat off the rabbit and added it to slow cooker with cornflour. served it with mash and garden peas.
there was enough for all (me, DH and LO) and the same again which il freeze for another night!!

the rabbit cost £2.50 from the butchers and there was loads of meat on it. was happily suprised!! will deff do it again
