I usually use my slow cooker for stews/casseroles but would love to do a whole chicken but don't know how to do it, could someone advise please?

Rest the Chicken on some cut up Onion and Carrot and away you go.

We do not add any liquid but you could if you wish.
I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.

Don't leave it too long, I did (thinking it'd be ok, I'm talking 10 hours here!) and the bones turned to mush, such a shame as would be lovely otherwise.

Hello, I had a slow cooker for xmas, so excitedly I have made so far this year:

Chicken curry - 6 hrs and a jar of Sharwoods worked perfectly
BBQ Pulled pork - I used a bourbon pour over sauce from Tesco 6 hrs worked perfectly with some red onion
A spinach and ricotta lasagne - chucked a tin of cherry tomatoes in the bottom and a little water to stop it drying out
    Vegetable stew
    Beef stew

Very pleased so far - tomorrow I am making Coq au Vin

I've thrown a roasted butternut squash, an onion and some vegetable stock in to mine. I'll blend it then add seasoning and curry powder after a few hours on high.

A nice warming soup to help detox my liver after the New year

  • Some diced chicken breast, which was YS and a jar of Sharwoods Tikka Masala Sauce. Always turns out really nice!

  • I do the curry with 1 tin of coconut milk, diced onion, chicken breast and 1 or 2 tbsp of curry paste (depending on how concentrated it is). I usually leave it for 4h on medium.
