I made a veggie lasagne in mine recently. Turned out really well, but it would probably be the better for a quick browning under the grill at the end"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510 -
Can I ask a quick question? I have just bought a slow cooker and have some ingredients to make some things (recipes pulled off allrecipes website!) I am a bit scared of it to be honest and just wondering when you guys find the time to get all the preparation done before chucking it in?
I have to get two young kids up and out the house for 8am mon-fri to get to work and don't have time to stand and chop veg etc in the morning unless I was to get up at 5am :eek:0 -
Sometimes I throw the ingredients into my slow cooker in the evening, whilst making tea, and keep it overnight in the conservatory where it is really cold.
I turn it on in the morning on low, and my son turns if off when he gets in first. Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -

Prep the veg in an evening like above and put the pot in the fridge or somewhere cold (or even just put everything in a tupperware in the fridge). Put the meat in in the morning and switch on.....and forget! lol
I am lucky and stay home now but when I worked I used to do this a couple of times a week. Each time I use the slow cooker I try to make it go 2 nights so it's 2 easy meals instead of 1 lol :TChanging my Family's Future!! - Starting again!!!!
