There will be loads of info/treads for slow cooker & cheap recipes (possibly in theThe Old Style MoneySaving Board
I am guessing this will be merged with a slow cooker thread).
Did your slow cooker not come with a book? Start there and play around with some of your basic meals trying them in the slow cooker there are many things you can do in a slow cooker from vegetables to cheap cuts of meat for economy.

I've merged this with an existing thread on what people have in their slow cooker today so you can see how others use theirs
This thread may also help https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/43570
For veggie recipes, this thread would be useful

I wish I was good at using a slow cooker. I know it seems a little...odd how this could have happened but I was cooking some sort of cider, potato lamb type concoction in my slow cooker and I turned it on before I went to bed, went to work the next day, and the whole thing had like dried out and kinda burned on. This was about 2 years ago and my parents were on holiday so I left it for them to come home to (contents and all!), to see if it was salvageable. Sadly, it was not
I've not bought another one. (Plus, when I did make something in it which actually worked, the potatoes weren't like the normal texture, they appeared to be like the texture of tinned new potatoes).
There are alternatives. If you have a stock pot or a big pot you could use a wonderbag and then after 20 minutes place it in a wonderbag and leave it to stew without heating it any further. I use slow cookers but am considering a wonderbag as a good back up and alternative. It's really easy to default to cynicism these days, since you are almost always certain to be right.0 -

It's not in there yet but shortly my yummy Lentil and Bacon soup will be on the go. When ready it will be frozen into individual portions to have with a sandwich for a cheap and lazy lunch.
Many years ago I was given a recipe in Turkey for Mint and Lentil soup (mmm so tasty) and keep promising myself I will try that in the sc as opposed to my big stockpot. Watch this space!!"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0
