My recipe with mushroom soup & chicken wasn't nice at all, it was really salty!!!! Not sure I will give the recipes book another try...
Has anyone cooked a whole chicken..? I'm thinking of trying but I've no idea how it will come out...0 -

You will find that you dont need to add extra salt to anything that has soup in it.
You can also use low sodium or reduced salt soup.0 -
I didn't add any salt at all.. in fact I added some water to make it a bit lighter (I suspected the ingredients contained too much salt, and I was right)0

Oxtail Stew in mine today - Oxtail pieces, stew pack (carrots, onions, swede, parsnips), celery, leeks cooking away in a mix of beef and veg stock cubes with dried mixed herbs, couple of bay leaves, pearl barley, red lentils and seasoned with celery salt and white pepper.
I coat the oxtail pieces in flour seasoned with black pepper BEFORE 'flash sealing' in a frying pan prior to putting in the SC, then deglaze the pan afterwards. This ensures that the cooking liquid thickens to produce a good gravy.
I also add home-made herb dumplings about 45mins-1hr before it's finished cooking.0 -
