Mmm, its a bit of a "get some jars & packets out of the cupboards" week! Today got chicken curry in SC (schwartz packet mix I'm afraid) with lots of veggies and I'll shove some spinach and a couple of mushrooms in when I get home. Then also this week, Lamb & Rosemary casserole (jar I'm afraid, but its a huge jar so really need to get it out of the cupboard to make some room!).
Curry doesn't look like its got much liquid in it as I only put one tin of chopped tomatoes in, but it should be fine after its cooked down a bit.
Also going to do prawns in a tomato sauce and serve with tagliatelle. Am going to get loads of fresh tomatoes & some tomato puree and hopefully it'll make a lovely rich sauce after 6-8 few hours on low? Might chuck in a chilli or two and some sundried tomatoes as well. Won't put the prawns in until the end.0 -
I am cooking a sloppy joe kind of concoction with turkey mince, onion, carrots, sweetcorn, beans, tomatoes, garlic, mild chilli powder and herbs. Chucked it all in with a bit of chicken stock and it's already starting to smell lush. Going to serve it tonight with some of my Approved Food naan mountain I have acquired. :rotfl:I love this time of year when you can use your slow cooker to its full advantage!0

Chicken Chassuer (Colman's packet mix - cheating I know - but just like claregre I am having a clear-out of my cupboard!), plenty of onions, mushrooms and red pepper and although not to recipe, some tinned tomatoes. Will be served with some yummy mustard-mash :j:j:j0

Spicy veg, and lentil soup in mine. Hm chicken stock, red lentils, organic tinned tomatoes, carrot, courgette, onion, garlic, chilli flakes, cumin, mixed spice, and grated root ginger. Will whizz up with a hand blender in a few hours.
Edit: Added boiling water, plus some Marigold veg boullion powder to adjust seasoning, an hour before the end, as the lentils made it a bit thick (more like a dhal). Nicely thinned down now!
Vala-Mal-Doran: I use the juices, carcass, and scraps of meat, skin, leftover perhaps veg, covered with boiling water, and simmered overnight in my SC, then strained to make stock.New forum. New sig. Yes I still need to lose 2 stone!0 -
Today I did chicken drumsticks with onions, a bottle of Paul Newman BBQ sauce, a little jerk seasoning and some Cherry Coke. My BF has asked me to say that he though it was absolutely beautiful - well, they do say that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach!0

Butchers had some Brisket for £4.50/kilo, so I bought a piece which was 1.2kg, for which I was charged £4.85 as I wanted it left on the bone.
Made a lovely braised joint, with some roasties done in the infra red, and some yorkshire puds done in the combi oven convection bit (I am still waiting for OH to rewire the main oven after it shorted out about 4 months ago.....)Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0 -
I have just put a bargain lamb knuckle in with some stock an onion & garlic - not sure how this will turn out , it is my first time with a lamb joint in the sc. Have put it on High but thinking perhaps I should have it on auto. MmmmmFrugal Challenge £9000
