    Hi
I don't get on that well with my slow cooker lol I dont know why but things dont tend to turn out well for me except for this one recipe.
So today I didnt know what to cook so i decided to do this today.

    6 sausages (halved)
    2 tins tomatoes
    2 tins beans
    tarragon
    pepper
    peas
    Worcestershire sauce

I think i will serve it with baked potato tonight and there will be enough for tomorrows dinner too.
Everything is always better after a cup of tea

I have quite a large beef joint I got reduced, and wonder whether anyone has a tasty SC recipe for it that I could try at the weekend

I have also used a schwartz slow cooker packet, chicken curry, only been on for a few hours and it smells lovely!!!

    :j

What did you think? We thought it was lovely, and so quick and easy. Was quite spicy though - too hot perhaps for some but we were fine!

Butter chicken was absolutely gorgeous. Put 2tbsp cornflower mixed in with 180ml cream about 45 mins before serving and switched SC to high - it thickened really well! Think I'll try that trick again!

Tonight we have YS beef chopped up, with 2 YS packets of casserole veggies, a bit of gravy powder and a good dollop of horseradish, for a grand total of 70p!!!!
Cant be bad! Just need to get off my backside and put some tatties on!
  • Does anyone have the pork and banana curry recipe that came in the instruction booklet for a tower slow cooker? I have lost mine and it was lush!
    Thanks

    Hi Kayl

When it comes to beef, it has to be a roast??? I always put mine in about 8.30am with an onion halved and resting on top and just leave it on high til bout 11.45-12pm then pop it in the oven on high to brown the outside and take it out at 12.30 to rest until I'm ready to carve... then I use the juices from the s/c and my veggie water to make an awesome beef & onion gravy YUM:)

Life....mmmm....still trying to figure that one out but what I do know is if I had all the answers it'd be a hell of a lot easier!!!!!!:p
  • Did a turkey drumstick in the SC today with sliced potatoes and a root veg pack I got reduced for 39 pence a few days ago. Everything was prepared last night so just had to set it going this morning before I left for work. This was also my first time using a socket timer - wish I'd got it ages ago as so far everything I've cooked during the week has had at least 10 hours and whilst always edible has looked a bit overcooked. The turkey got 7 hours on high and I came home to a really lovely smelling home and there's plenty for tomorrow too! These drumsticks are amazing value - £1.70 and I got about 400 grams of very tender and tasty meat one and have made about a pint of stock with the bone. Last time this gave 2 large bowlfuls of delicious veggie soup.
