In my slow cooker today.... part 2

A whole chicken in mine, with 1/2 a lemon, and an onion stuffed in its cavity, seasalt, blackpepper, rosemary, and all purpose chicken seasoning.0

What do you recommend I try next?? I'm not very good at cooking (despite having 3 kids aged 20-3!), so it needs to be foolproof lol.
So far I've made spag bol, chicken curry, beef casserole and tomato and lentil soup, but would really like to try something else.
In the freezer (that I can remember) there are pork chops, chicken breasts, mince and salmon fillets.
Any suggestions?? Would the pork and cider recipe work with the pork chops do you think? I'm trying to lose weight and also cut our shopping bill down so try to add lots of veges and lentils where I can.
Thank you
The pork and cider one should be fne with the chops, or you could do a chicken chasseur with the chicken.0 -

The chops will work fine but suggest you cut off the fat first otherwise it will be very greasy and the fat tends to go a bit slimy if left on.Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.0 -

Tried a Lancashire hotpot in it the other day and it tasted great but I was a little disappointed that it was quite watery. I coated the lamb in seasoned flour before i put it in the sc, but it didn't make any difference.
I couldn't stir any cornflour into it either because i had a layer of sliced potatoes on the top which I couldn't get underneath to stir in the cornflour iyswim...
Any ideas of how I could improve the hotpot please? Thanks
I use 2 tablespoons of tapioca to roughly 500mls of liquid, it thickens nicely, just put it in with everything else.0 -
