chicken and mushrooms in white sauce. Only took 1h on high and then 2 on low. Mind you the sauce was boiling hot straight from the microwave and the chicken breasts were tiny.

A small piece of topside this morning, a smoked gammon joint this pm, which will then be skinned and glazed and finished off in the oven. All to go cold for tomorrows lunch (guests) when it will be sliced very thinly to make it stretch further with hopefully some left for pies and flans later in the week. Just about to put a rice pudding in the small SC should be done in a couple of hours.

Does anyone else find that the very small SC cook too fast. I have mine on medium all the time as it actually boils when on full power.

Last minute thought this morning - chopped an onion and put it in with about 350g minced lamb, couple of tins of chopped tomatoes, tomato puree and some herbs / seasoning and switched it on low before I dashed off to work.

Bolognese sauce all ready when I came home. I'll use it to make the kids favourite - stuffed peppers. Half the work done already.

Will just half some red and yellow peppers (they don't like green - me and OH get left with those !), put in ovenproof dish and spoon some of the sauce into each, then top with some grated cheese and stick in the oven for 30 mins or so. Usually serve with a bit of pasta or couscous if they're particularly hungry.
  • Tiny bit of mince, can of toms, celery, carrot, onion, lentil, herbs & a splash of red wine. Will have it with dumplings later.

  • Got sweet chilli sausages in mine, cant remember if i got it from here or not.

Anyway brown off sausages, mix honey, chiilli powder and ketchup together, cut some carrots into batons and chuck all in slow cooker, will have this with egg fried rice, eggs need using up. and carrot, broccoli and green beans that i have steamed and had for lunch.

If this is your receipe out there it is FAB! and i am in no way trying to take credit for making it up, just can't remember who i got it from and where.

Any chance of the measurements for this? Sounds delish!
  • Hi all,

Can anyone direct me to a good recipe for lentil and bacon soup to go in slow cooker?
