  • All reputable Recipes sites I believe have recipes specifically geared up to the slow cooker: Epicurious, Chow, Good Food Magazine.
The recipes are also reliable, tasty and authorative which further helps us down the route of slow cooker led gustatory pleasures.

Half a dozen onions peeled and cut in half, a pint of beef stock from Knorr Stock pots (the best beef stock I've ever tasted) and the oter half of the brisket we had at Christmas.
Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.

Chilli beef. Never having made this before in the slow cooker I'm presuming I don't add the kidney beans until a bit later?

Yep, leave them out till about half an hour before you finish cooking - I assume here you're using tinned - so they just need warming up. Enjoy!

Today I am mostly cooking one of those dead reasonable price gammon shank doodahs from Morrissons (£1.78 yesterday although they were 1.50 a few months ago. I guess I am paying for all the building work they've done to supersize their shed/store. Good thing I don't go there very often any more ;) )
When it's finished boil/roasting, I will pop in hot oven for a bit to crisp up, we're having it with cauli cheese, already cooked new pots that were someone else's party leftovers which I've had in the freezer so just need a quick roast too, and cabbage, broccoli and carrots. My trousers are complaining just at the thought! I may have to pre-open a button
