    Just a quick question.

do I take off the skin from my joint before I put it in sc for tender pork bbq? Receipe doesnt say.

I dont really like the skin btw

Yes:) It will just be wet and fatty; those who like it can use it for separate crackling.
  • I have just put a joint of pork in to make a tender pork bbq, the sauce tastes amazing so i hope this is nice!

The pot is a 1.5 so it is full, mr t's made a mistake when sending my order and sent a 2.7kg joint instead of 1.5 i requested, so cut it up into 3 joints as its only me at home, 2 went in the freezer and will potentially be for future bbq joints if this is sucessful. :D

ms_night_ryder can we have a link to the recipe? Sounds like it'll be a good one. I just opted to add Heinz bbq sauce to the pork once I'd stripped it ... the cheats way!

Oh p.s. my frozen sausages were fantastic. And apparently I like sweet potato.

today will be a curry as every sat we have curry night, popdoms and naan bread so the curry will go in there and the chicken will come out perfect.
    Curry.....
had some passata left in the fridge so saved me opening a tin of chopped tom
    3tbsp of madras curry powder
    1tsp chicken seasoning
    1tsp of tandoori powder
1/2 tsp garlic and ginger paprika
had a tin of eveaporated milk and used half a tin, always have soe in the kitchen as i like it in my tea i know probably strange and makes my semi milk go longer.
    1 stock cube

    serve with rice and naan

sometimes i have just added what i like and it normally comes out nice but we enjoyed this to save on a takeaway.

Tomorrow om trying a joint of gammon, my partner says he doesnt like gammon or pork except sausages well in the week i made pork stew and he didnt notice. its because its the run upto xmas and i want to do something different this year if he asks what it is? my answer is ham lol.

  • I am going to put jacket potatoes in mine today, nothing else to put in the oven, so I thought I'd have a go. I have seen them in my crockpot manual, so it must work surely?! :D

It worked very well! You don't get the crispy skin you get in the oven, but it was tasty! I wrapped them in foil after piercing them, but I might try it without the foil next time to see if it makes a difference.
  • I got some beef - 4 roll type things - from ASDA today reduced to £1.33 so going to make beef stew with potatoes, onions, carrots, peas, gravy and 2 tins of chopped tomatoes with some crusty bread. I gave my neighbour a bowl of a recent stew I made and she loved it, so will have to take a bowl of this round for her too!
