we are trying this today except i added seasoning to the mix, it looks like chicken breast with white sauce but the sauce is chicken soup i had non left so i have used mushroom soup and added chicken stock cube as instructed anyways? but it smells lovely i hope its worth it........instead of potatoes n quaters ive sliced them and layered around the top like a hotpot.

I bought lamb breast yesterday for first time in years and have it cooking in a sweet and sour sauce ( admit sains basic which is lovely and bought for 29p a jar a few months ago, I stocked up while it was so cheap and cannot make for that price) have put two jars in as I find one not enough to cover all the rice and will serve with rice I have cooking now in rice bowl in steamer.Need to get back to getting finances under control now kin kid at uni as savings are zilch

Beef stew
cheap diced beef, swede, carrots, onions, tinned tomatoes, some free red wine i got from work (they bought it by mistake its undrinkable but can't tell in a stew lol) an oxo cube and pearl barley. i've worked out how to get the stew to thicken by adding pulses and coating the meat in seasoned flour - after early dishwatery attempts - thanks to advice here on mse. :T

I put black beans in mine this morning, and now they have been joined by the left over bolognaise sauce and a chilli!0

Still on a chicken theme (2 packs of 780g Morrison thighs for £5)
Think I've found the magical ingredient 'Fennel Seed' - it takes the anti-dish water campaign up a few notches!!!!
My Argos Value 1.8ltr S.C. was only £4.89 last year but a bit of a squeeze to have a variety of veg, SO I HAVE SPLASHED OUT !!!
Tesco 3.3ltr Black (picked up instore but also online) SCB11 £9.00 (they also had a Steel SC356 for £9)
Can now have more veg (and potatoes etc. now)
Much cheaper and healthier than a ready meal/takeaway. Nice to have a meal ready when come home!!! Don't know if a novelty!!0 -
Put some mince in mine not too long ago.

Today I have some sausages (Richmonds from Frmfds ... 24 for the price of 16, wahey!) with a bit of chopped red onion, herbs, some Bisto, potatoes and ... trying something different ... a sweet potato. Have no idea if the flavours will go but we'll find out in four hours or something.
And this might be the point where someone yells at me and says I shouldnt have stuck all the fresh ingredients in with frozen sausages. Again, we'll find out later on, it'll either kill us or fill us!November £5 a day challenge: £223.16/£150

Started comping too - no luck yet!
