Why 10 hours? Seems like an awfully long time.

They sound like lots of good flavours. The only thing that comes to mind as a possible addition is a bit of celery? (I freeze odds & ends of celery for occasions like this).

Some sort of beef stew with all the interesting additions I can find. :)

I think this is the first time in my life I've ever made a beef stew! I normally don't cook beef, this is a treat for DH.

I stuck in a shoulder of pork with veg yesterday - pulled the pork from the shoulder for bbq sandwiches which I enjoyed, not overly sure the hubby enjoyed it and then used the leftovers for a hearty soup for today. First time using the slow cooker and I was very impressed :)

Sort of Thai chicken soup, made with hm stock, reduced basil & coriander (a little left to sprinkle on top), ginger, garlic, leek and the remnants of a pasatta carton and stir fry pack. Unfortunately I've just eaten the left over chicken which was going to go in it :o
