Sadly, all this doesn't seem to have worked for me.

I already had three of these classic vantage accounts. Have been trying for ages to open the fourth one online, but no result.

After reading noh's post, I decided to try again for the fourth one and this time to my surprise it went through, but they only open a Classic current account WITHOUT vantage. Tried to 'upgrade' it to vantage on internet baking online with the 'click of the magical button', but it only allows me to upgrade to a 'silver' account for which I have to pay them - and no way I am going to do that.

It seems like after the initial three accounts, opening any further is like having babies - some people seem to have as many as they want while others can't open even one of these - no matter how much they try. Definitely, some complex algorithm involved. Now, tell us LTSB what it is, come on!!

Oh yes, I must add that i during all this time while I have been 'trying' for the fourth one - LTSB switched to their 'new' internet banking look-and-feel (which is as dumb as the previous one).

So, in a nutshell I am now stuck with the 'classic current' account, which pays a handsome 0.1% AER.

when i tried to upgrade the account, it offers silver as a main option, then further down (its fairly small) it gives an option to upgrade to other accounts, you click that link and gives you options of gold, platiuum etc and vantage (its right at the bottom of the list)

  • when paying £1000 between accounts, do you have to leave a day between each transfer, or can you just do it over the course of a few minutes?

In my experience the £1000 extra funds only need to be in the Vantage account for milliseconds.

To save you the hastle of transferring your £1K each month, set up standing orders from Vantage 1 to vantage 2, and Vantage 2 to vantage 1 (or however many you have.

I only log on every 6 months or so to check it's all running smoothly - which it is.
