If you open 3 different accounts, do you have to have 3 different cashline cards - not sure I want any more - too confusing!
    Three different VISA Debit Cards.

You can certainly opt out of receiving chequebooks for the accounts, can't recall whether you can opt out of receiving the Debit Cards during the application process.

Cut them up and throw them away on receipt.
    That will prevent confusion.

You can opt out of debit cards and cheque/paying in books for the accounts(s) if you want. I just had a card and books for one account just in case I need money in a hurry - I can move money from the other accounts online if I need to. When I opened my account they said I had to have the credit card so I just destroyed it when it arrived. When I took my parents to open their accounts, they did not have to take the credit card.
  • I opened mine in the branch and the chap asked me if I wanted a card, cheque book and paying in book. I declined and there was no problem with that, he did try and push me the credit card though, which I also declined!
Be happy, it's the greatest wealth :)

Don't be too hasty to do that. If you have to ask them to set up a transfer out (as the facility to do it online is locked in the early days) ...... they will only do so if you can provide the card number.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !

I opened a second Classic account this week.
Applied online on Sunday, the account appeared online Tuesday I added the Vantage and deposited funds Tuesday evening. The debit card arrived today, haven't destroyed it yet!
Was able transfer funds out online today with no problem.
  • Converted my current account to a Vantage account and put in £7K which will be funded with £2K every month. Opened a 2nd account and put in £7K and have arranged a standing order for £1K from 1st Vantage account into 2nd account (a day later). Is it okay then to open a 3rd Vantage account and put in the £1K which I transferred from 1st account to 2nd account say also a day later which means £1K appears one day and disappears the next day but I will still have the £7K in the 1st two account and hopefully if I open the 3rd Vantage account I can put £7K into that but just make sure I transfer out any extra over the three lots of £7K.

    Is that right?

Do NOT destroy the card, you will need the card when you call LTSB customer services and they run you through the security questions.

Also, if you wish to open your second or third vantage account over the phone, you WILL need to have the card for the primary account with you -- without which you cannot go forward with the application process.
  • That's right (except you don't need to leave a day between the transfers).
