Lloyds TSB Vantage - Multiple accounts

Three may be the maximum in the T&C but I've just managed to open my 5th!
Tried about 3 weeks ago on-line from my accounts page and never heard anything. It never showed and I didn't receive any communication either way.
So tried again on Monday, and today there it was in my accounts, a brand spanking new Classic Account, which I swiftly upgraded to Vantage.
Got a bond coming up in 3 weeks. Hmmmm maybe I'll try for number 6 before the end of August.
Personally I wouldn't bother applying in branch, I'd just keep trying online0 -
Could they, in theory, remove all the interest paid on these extra vantage accounts if they suddenly catch on?0

I doubt they would do that. They could downgrade your account to classic without vantage. It seems more likely that they would simply reduce the rate.

In theory I guess they could but in reality I cant see them doing that.0

I currently have 5 Vantage accounts, but could do with another. Couldn't add a 6th vantage account online or over the phone, got a letter saying I would have to go into branch to do it. Telephone customer services confirmed this also.
So I went into branch asking to create a secondary classic account (with the intention of upgrading online at a later date) and when the lady saw that I already had 5 vantage accounts she said I would have to revert some. Then she said I would need an appointment to discuss another new account.
So she made one for me (which was for yesterday) but I had no intention of going because 1) it sounds like the answer will be no anyway; and 2) I don't particularly want to alert them again to the fact I have too many Vantage accounts otherwise they may do something about it.
That said, since I have not had contact with them since they'd better not go reverting some of my accounts back to classic without my authorisation!! :eek:Mortgage free I: 8th December 2009!

Hi I've just joined what looks like a great site after seeing this thread. I've been looking at switching my bank accounts as im currently with Halifax and as I've got £16,000 in the bank I'm pretty tired of only receiving their 'great £5 a month reward' previously I was getting over £8 a month. I was going to switch to Santander before seeing some advice on here saying to do otherwise.
I've got a ISA with Halifax which is currently tied up and a guareteed saver which has just matured with £7,000 in it so I'd be looking at opening two of these vantage accounts. I'm basically after advice if I should move all my money as I'm looking at buying a house in the near future and would like to know if Lloyds offer good mortgage rates to their customers as with Halifax I haven't had much luck. I'm working so I'd be getting paid £1000+ into my bank account.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.0 -

can't find the option to upgrade to vantage online anywhere!
If I click on the 'upgrade' link it just says:
Sorry, but we can't offer you this product right now. Please call us on 0845 3 000 000 if you'd like to speak to someone about this.
then lists all the different accounts (platinum, gold, silver, classic) to compare.
tried going to the 'apply online' link but still can't find any way to upgrade to vantage.
do I have to do it the old fashioned way by phone?
I just did it on the telephone - spoke to three very polite men! On the website if you click current accounts and then classic the bottom of the page gives a reference to vantage0 -
applied for my 6th classic account the other day, showing online today and upgraded to my 6th vantage
it just so happened i when into a lloyds branch this morning to pay in a cheque, obviously they could see i had 'numerous' vantage account on their computer and said you can only have 2 LOLdidn't actually do anything about it though! they just seemed to suggest i wouldn't get interest on more than 2 so would be better moving the money to another account LOL
i just smiled and said i'll look into it
Stupid question but do I just do a standing order out for £1000 now I have actually got a Classic with Vantage, and another standing order from my regular current account for the same amount going back in?0 -
