I manage3d to get sorted out with an extra vantage account.
Took a couple of times of applying for a new current account to get one.
then finding the vantage upgrade was not straightforward but sorted now. No visits to the branch required :)

Csn someone confirm the terms of the "pay in £1000" every month.
Can I just pay money from one vantage account to the other?

It seems to me that nothing says this is not allowed. Therefore if you have the money its 4% savings and easy accessunless I've misunderstood

  • I'm also looking to open one of these, if I put in £8,000, will I get 4% on the first £7,000 and what rate will I get on the last £1,000?

Curently next to nothing -from December absolutely Nothing. Don't leave more than 7K in there. Maybe open an instant access savings (sayTesco 2.75%) - put the extra 1K there and also your monthly interest.

    Tenth Anniversary
I opened Classic accounts online for both myself and OH last week. Logged onto internet banking yesterday when the log in details arrived.

It immediately gave me the option to upgrade and when I clicked on the button it automatically offered an upgrade to the Vantage account with no other options.

I was expecting problems hunting the site for the right button to upgrade to Vantage, but there were none.

No idea what I would have done if I had wanted to upgrade to Silver or any of the others though.
  • If I put in the max £7,000 does that mean I will get 4% interest per month? i.e. £3360 for the year.

Doesn't seem right. Sorry for the newbie questions.

Its about £19 per month (net) - varies with the number of days in the month.

£7000 x 4%/365 x31 (days in month) x.8 (net of basic rate tax)
  • I do love this thread!

Anyways ... I have my 3 Vantage accounts maxed out but when I try to apply for another Classic account online, with the aim of upgrading, I get this:

Sorry. We can't process your account application online.

space.gifspace.gifHowever, we may be able to process your application in a Lloyds TSB branch but we need to talk to you further about your application.

    space.gifspace.gifspace.gifSimply call into any Lloyds TSB branch with;
    • An original document confirming your identity e.g. passport or driving licence.
    • An original document confirming your address e.g. utility bill or bank statement.
So, my question is, is there any value in phoning up and asking for another one (or two) without the likelihood of receiving difficult questions, as obviously they will see I have 3 of the blighters already! Anyone have any history of this?

I am overseas, so 'popping in' to a branch is somewhat difficult!
It's not personal, It's strictly business.

I believe 3 accounts is the maximum you can have.
