Lloyds TSB Vantage - Multiple accounts

Options
I am a bit confused !

I notice that several of you have multiple Lloyds vanatage acounts, how do you set these up?

I have been reading the Lloyds site and I can see several different accounts but apart from one they all have a monthly fee. The monthly fee looks as thought these accounts are not worth opening for savings only so how do you open multiple classic Accounts with vantage?

Open a classic account which has no fee. Then convert it to Classic with Vantage online. Or do it in branch or over the phone.
Described here click the "How to apply" tab.

You can open the Classic with Vantage directly from here :-

    http://www.lloydstsb.com/current_accounts/classic_and_classic_plus_accounts.asp

... and, although it doesn't jump out, the multiple availability is covered towards the bottom of the page from the link noh provided :-
Customers are limited to a total of 3 Vantage Accounts.

It seems lately however that after you open one of the accounts online, you are then asked to go into a branch to open additional ones. Latest rules allow for a max of three. If you are looking for multiple a/c it might be worthwhile going into a branch and opening all 3 at the same time.

On the online banking it used to tell me to go into a branch to open additional accounts when I clicked on the new account application. Then when I tried around the 21st of December it said why not open a second account so I proceeded to fill in the short application presented basically just confirming the details they held.
Then after Christmas I got a letter saying I had to go into branch to open an account because I already had one account despite the fact that the application was in response to their suggestion of opening a second account online.

I got an online invitation too. It was suggested that it would be useful to have another current account for, say, household expenditure. However this was not for the Classic Vantage account but for one with a monthly fee. I therefore decided that the simplest thing was indeed to go into a branch.

well I've managed over the last few weeks to add another three Vantage accounts to the two current accounts I already upgraded, which gives me five Vantage accounts.

I thought three was the limit??

Did you open them online or in a branch?

3 is the limit according to their website.

I did them all online. I'm currently looking at five classic vantage accounts on screen. Two have been long-standing accounts which I upgraded first, and since Xmas I have created three new current accounts, one every week, which all have been upgraded to Vantage without problems. Five Vantage accounts! All I need now is money to put in them :rotfl:

My GF opened 3 in the branch and they said that was the limit, I opened 1 online and they wont let me open any others online, says I have to go into a branch.

One more question, re the monthly minimum payment (£1000 I think), is it OK to do this via the online standing order system, so that for the GF she just moved 1k form AC1 to AC2 and 1k from AC2 to AC3 and 1k from AC3 to AC1? are they happy with that?

    Thanks
