Is anyone in Glasgow? Can you tell me what the roads are like there - specifically M8 around J29. DH is driving up there on Thursday so wants an idea of how good/bad the weather/roads are.

Hi JJ, sorry if someone has replied already, the roads at that part will be fine, we have a thaw on at the moment, I know more snow is predicted but generally the M8 is ok and I don't think we are going to get anywhere near what we have had

Ragz, could he not offer his 'in house' services instead of garden services? helping others do little jobs around the house, painting, tiling, furniture rearranging? just to get a little money in and keep busy. Just a thought in case it might help.. :D

Catalogue returns sorted, WM and TD on.. just deciding what to throw in the SC for dinner.. may end up as pork casserole.. Phone calls next on the agenda.

Yeah he does that for a few of his customers sometimes but they are just telling him not to bother coming in at the moment, roads are awful here and no point risking it for a few hours.
Luckily his Thurs/Fri job will usually find him stuff to do if he can get there, even if it's deep cleaning the kitchen!
Lilme Oh I wish we had a 4x4, can't afford to run one at the moment though so he carries all his tools around in an estate car, which we managed to get out of the road for the first time in a week today!
    THanks though x

Just caught DH reading my list! He edited it (my lists are precious ) but only to swap "Medical Box" and "Sharpen Knives" around lol so that we know we have lots of plasters before he starts!

    TUESDAY DONE!!

Ragz an estate might help him do small goods shifting, parcel deliveries included, home deliveries network use a lot of people with their own cars. If he can not drive in the current conditions, this of course would not be a good idea at the minute but something to maybe consider is looking at alternatives for the future. What about taking in emailed design work so he can be working on plans for future landscaping projects people want doing?
One day I might be more organised...........

    :mad:Grrrrr RANT ALERT!

Sometimes I wonder why I bother. Yesterday, I decluttered the living room floor and hoovered it. Do I get any thanks for that? No! On the contrary, the bits and bobs that belong to OH got put on his chair for him to sort out when he got home - he doesnt like me putting his things away as he claims he cant find them again when I do. So what does he do? He comes home, pickes up the pile (about 5 items) and dumps it on the floor :mad::mad::mad::mad:

AND THEY ARE STILL THERE THIS MORNING!!!!!:mad:

    Ruth

I usually go round the house collecting all his "bits", he leaves allan keys, screwdrivers, pool chalk, screws, bits of plastic, all sorts of stuff lying, then I put it all in a bag an put it on his workbench in the garage which I only go into to get stuff in and out of chest freezer/TD there are lots of 8 legged creatures in there yeugh!!

    Morning all (just)

    Benw and Mumof2
Read the following in the paper this weekend (as one of 66 tips to de-stress) and am trying to follow it:
"It's important to think of men as welcome perks;) rather than the answer to anything in particular...once you have put aside the expectation and think of them more like entertaining visitors who help when they can, the stress melts away."
Have been trying to concentrate on not thinking DH is unwelcome visitor...:rotfl:

TooChoosey - can't believe you did that in 30 mins. :T Are you superhuman or is your kitchen superclean and tidy already?! Come an help me with mine will you?!

Right. Down to business. I'm flying off to start and HHC - anyone coming?
    :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Hardly, but been here a while so it gets it's usual S+S in the evenings and a general tidy on non kitchen days, therefore making it easier to do. HTH xx( plus Pigpen didn't put any hotspots on the list so I was able to clean and put them back a bit tidier sssshhhhh:o)

Bookshelf done, box of books waiting to go.

Just waiting for DH to get up so that I can add the torch I spotted on his bedside table into the emergency tin then that will be another day done.

Have just been and dug the car out of the ice and might give it a run down to the doctors instead of walking , then I can see if the sewing machine shop have a different part to the one I bought this morning! Will also be able to take the box of books I just sorted 2.gif

Having a cuppa while I decide what to do next.

ok looks like from the list it will be freezing the sausages and bacon or ironing work clothes  as I am not bathing the dog yet as far too messy
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!
