sexy - I completely agree with greenbee. I'm afraid she has gone down not up in my estimation (I know I sound harsh!)

soappie - that group sounds like a good idea. Commuters are evil! and have you been stalking me?! :rotfl:

Champagne drunk, now in bed and really should switch from my laptop to my book. Keep waking up at 5am though I did get back to sleep this morning at least. Still, ankle is better again this evening, I can almost walk normally - amazing! :j

I will fly this weekend, with help from DH. Did a load of washing tonight, and folded the dry stuff on the airer. Don't think my fave jeans will be dry for the morning though...I'll have to put the black ones on which are slightly tighter  which reminds me I need to enter my ww points.

    night all

I know this is off thread and not about me flying (or not) at all but you ladies are some of the sanest and wisest people I know, and I really want some advice from impartial people.

My 40th birthday is coming up soon and people are asking what I want for my birthday. I have asked for an ipod from dh and some itunes vouchers to go with it. Apart from that I am really struggling to know what to tell people when they ask what I want. Truthfully there is nothing I really need or even want that much. I am not materialistic, dont really give a stuff about a new mobile (mine costs £20 and texts and calls). Am also sat here watching news about the terrible earthquake in Haiti and wondering about whether to ask people to give a donation to their relief fund instead. If you were my family/friends/colleagues would this strike you as weird or would you think it was ok? Don't want to offend people but really struggle with asking for stuff, when really I am trying to cut back on all the unnecessary 'stuff' I have. I have felt this way for a while about Christmas and birthdays and all the rubbish that gets bought (no offence to my family) and I do like saving up and waiting for things.

Sorry to ramble on but I am very confused about what to do - don't want to upset people or make them think I'm some sort of weirdo either. Any comments welcome.
Go for it......I think very much the way you do...if I want something I will get it myself, I would rather people spent money on something useful:D

Head start on this as the DDD did this this week, her room was a pigsty again:rolleyes:
She now claims it is tidy:rotfl:
I told her it wasnt.....she said " it might not be YOU tidy but it is tidy for me, I could never get it like you did"
I told her it would have been easy to keep it that way:cool:

It may be tidier, but it sure as hell isnt clean:mad:

    QUESTION FOR PARENTS/TEACHERS xx
I'm sorry to go off thread but was talking t a couple of friends today(parents of children in DD's clas), about the class/school.......the only complaint I have at the mo is that DD comes home and I ask "did you tell the teacher that we did such a thing over the hols/ snowy weather/ HAVE YOUR BIRTHDAY PARTY?" she said that she had tried but the teacher didn't listen and then told me that they sung Happy Birthday to 3/4 children who had had their Birthday over hols but didn't sing to her!!!

Am I being silly or should I say something????
    TIA xx

Paper finished and sent off... bet they tell me it needs loads of changes . Still, at least it's written and there is something to work on now.

Guess I'd better make my hot water bottles and head off to bed, or I'll never get up and get everything done tomorrow...

    sleep well...

wow, I think that is a really kind thought, and you are not the only one who may consider doing this. :T:T:TI saw this couple on Sky News asking for cheques towards the fund, instead of presents, for their anniversary. You go for it, your f+f should not object becuase this will make you happy.:T:T:T
