  • Ohhh hooray a new thread for 2010 :D HI ALL *wavey wave*

I had my WI on friday just gone and lost 1lb. Was a bit miffed, but suprised as I was convinced I'd put weight on. So now I'm at 12st 1lb. :D

Got my day planned out so far for food - which is proving to be a GREAT help for me :)

    So far I've had..
    Breakfast: Ready brek: 1.5pts
Snack: Reduced fat red pepper and chilli houmous with celery and cucumber sticks: 2.5pts

    And am yet to have..
Dinner: WW sweet and sour chicken with rice meal: 5pts
Tea: Stir fry veg with beef, rice noodles and black bean sauce: 5.5pts

Leaves me with 5.5pts to use at will throughout the day :)

I'm home sick with a cold so I thought I'd 'treat' myself to some instant noodles with chicken and mushrooms added in for lunch, instead of my normal salad. I calculated the points before I made lunch and thank goodness I did! I calculated the pack of instant noodles to be 10.5 points!!!! I can't work out where all the calories are coming from - I was shocked! Does anyone have any lower points noodle options to recommend?

Instant noodles are a complete and utter bar steward unfortunately - i used to live on these..no wonder I was so big!! lol

Batchelors do 'low fat' super noodles which have been a godsend for me as I do love instant noodles.

They come in 3 different flavours that I've come across stocked in supermarkets so far:

5000175410685_21000_IDShot_2.jpeg Chicken & Herb - 5 points per whole pack

5000175410692_21000_IDShot_2.jpeg Sweet Thai Chilli - 5 points per whole pack

5000354401763_21000_IDShot_2.jpeg Chilli Chicken - 4.5 points per whole pack

Batchelors super noodles are on offer in Asda at the moment..6 packs for £2 :)

    Hope this helps xx

haha, I was thinking the same about myself! between the noodles and the cheese, it all makes sense now! :rotfl:

Thanks for the tip on the Bachelors low fat version - I'll get some!

I used to live on asdas smart price instant noodles, or any other brand ones that were on offer - i swear it became a way of life - I could never understand why i was constantly putting weight on - but after pointing a packet when i started weight watchers it was like a lightbulb switching on in my head :rotfl: Terrible!

I must admit, the low fat batchelors ones are rather yummy! I'm a sucker for sweet chilli, chilli, or just spice in general - so these flavours suit me just fine :D (Still miss the odd gorge on southern fried, bacon or mexican full fat flavours though..grr haha)

Snap them up whilst they're on offer :D I haven't pointed any of the cheaper instant noodles - will have to make a point (no pun intended there.. ;) ) of doing it next time i'm in a supermarket.

woah, super noodles at 10.5 points! but... they're just noodles and flavour powder... so confused. good thing i can't stand them (i know- i'm a freak!!)

well i'm having a good day so far- toast n marmite for breakfast (3 pts) and a chicken sandwich for lunch (3 pts). very bready- i need to go shopping for more nutritious things

Oh evenings are soooooo hard thats why I've just logged on! Got to keep my fingers busy cos I'm so not hungry after nando's at lunchtime and besdies I only have 2points left.

I've got some sticky stars (now this may be incredibly sad but I can tell you lot!!) and for everyday I'm within my points I'm going to stick a star on my (hot men in uniform) calendar. Hoping this 'visual aid' will be motivation...I also get to stare a bit longer at the hot paramedic who is january. Just need to record exercise..

Not really had super noodles but I might get some of the chilli chicken and thai ones in for emergencies - they sound yum (I LOVE chilli too)

I could take a 10 minute trundle to Morrisons to get some squash but its soooo cold...
Really should be doing some work...

Ooo hot men in uniform - now that sounds a good calendar!! I quite like the sound of the visual aid - stickers and all

Well my 5 point lasagne is in the oven, so I have sat down to right some of my dissertation, whilst on here hehe...

My lasagne might not actually look like lasagne as its

75g of mince beef - you dont get much for 2.5 points.
loads of mushrooms - 0 points
loads of onions - 0 points
loads of carrots - 0 points
loads of chopped tomato for sauce - 0 points
1 sheet of lasange on top - 1 point
35g of philadelphia mixed with a bit of warm water to make the right consistency - 1.5 points

will let you know what its like - fingers crossed.

I make a nice noodle soup... not totally low-point but lower than mentioned here!

Chopped veg eg brocolli, peppers, carrots, corn
    Finely chopped garlic and ginger
A spray of oil in the saucepan and add these ingredients
Once veg softened, add a block of plain noodles (eg sharwoods plain fine noodles 4 points)
Then cover with pint stock and boil til noodles soft (though you don't want liquid to disappear!)
Serve and eat in a very messy way!

Am hungry now...! Going to a friends house for bangers and mash so have been saving points today and now I'm ravenous!
