I have done lots of spinning classes - they are meant to be the highest calorie-burners at the gym. It's good fun, and it keeps you going - I'd never sit on the bike at the gym for 45 mins if I wasn't in a class. Like most things, you get out of it what you put in - it is possible to 'cheat' and work at a lower resistance than you should/could be (not that I ever would of course ...:o)0 -
Hi, can I join in?
I'm doing weightwatchers online, and did well last year, lost 12kg despite not being able to take much exercise. Then in the summer I stopped losing weight, suppose I got a bit bored and better at excuses, also less desperate to lose. At least managed to maintain weight for the next 6/12, even the Christmas weightgain came off again.
But now, despite good intentions, weight is creeping back on, am 3kg heavier than I was at the beginning of this year, most of this gained in the last few weeks. Help! I think I know what I need to do, proper meal planning and shopping to plan and all that, but need to somehow get properly motivated again.0 -

Hi tina,
I'm new, too, and I can identify with a lot you've been saying. It's hard to resist all the temptation around you, especially if hubbies bring in the forbidden food. (I know, in theory nothing is forbidden, but who can stop at a tiny little portion when there is more)?
If you are getting headaches, maybe you are not eating quite enough?
Good luck with the plan, and the spinning class?

Hi confused,
just saying hello to the other newcomers on this page. I've never been to a meeting, but some of the recipes I get via the on-line website are quite good, I expect you will be given some booklets with menue ideas to get you started.
Like you, I get a bit in a rut, cooking the same things and then getting bored and grabbing "treats". I don't have much time for specialised shopping and cooking, so rarely try anything too complicated.
Anyway, I'm sure you'll get lots of materials to get you started tomorrow, let us know how you get on.

+1lb for me this week :mad:
it is my totm though and i have weighed in a day early. Thinking although im annoyed that as soon as i get close to my first half a stone i go backwards, but it could have been alot worse if i hadnt of stuck to my points and upped my exercise a little.
Normally i would put on and think "right, thats it" and lose the plot for a week or 2.......but am gonna make myself be good this week in the hope it pays off for me next week.
Zumba tonight, supposed to burn lots of calories off. How did it go last night fran-o??!!! im actually quite excited about it (which makes me sound so so sad!:rotfl:)
Big hello and good luck to all the newbies.........would love for people to put new ideas for meals on here..........just cant seem to pluck my way through the recipes on esource.
