Well I'm pretty hard to shut up, so the chat will keep coming, I'm afraid ...

Anyway, an Amber Update, such as it is. I'm concentrating on ideas other than selling goods. These include -

Psychic and tarot readings via email (have set up website)
    Domination website
    Ebooks that I've written myself
Making art from recycled materials, to be sold at local art market
Small craft items (eg crocheted brooches and belts)

So far, mostly at the ideas stage ... am down with a virus or something at the moment, which is not helping lol

Oh, can anyone remember the name of any websites where you can sell your photos? That's idea no 6!

Phew, finally caught up. I'm bowing out this week. Got a load of course work due and an exam on Wednesday so I think I'll need to concentrate on those. Will be back at the weekend though!

A group of people, all focused on a definite aim, pulling together to reach out for their dreams and support each other along the way (through advice, support, chat, humour, motivation ... and the occasional well intention boot up the behind;)) is to me the true power of this thread and the wider MSE site. A place to come where there will be enough people in a positive, helpful mood to help counteract some of the quagmire of negativity we can all encounter out in the big wide world. I for one am loving it :D.

Our thread just wouldn't be our thread without Sparky waxing philosophical and helping us all see the light of day!

    Well said... written.. typed even!

    ;)

Pm me your email address and ill send you my blankity blank spreadsheet for you to customise! in Return you can send me a blankity blank cheque!!!

mwahahahhah (rubbing my hands in evil glee)

klebly have pmed you back ;)

ok, lots of help on here regarding book selling, but one of my books doesn't have an ISBN no. What do I do? It was printed in 1940's and looks like typewriter print.

edit: found it by serching title on fatbrain (thanks for the link), but it is saying they will give £1.17 for a 7th edition copy, but mine was printed in 1947 and in the front cover it says first edition March 1947, reprinted April 1947.

Does this mean I have a first or second edition and secondly, where can I sell it if it is worth more?

Oh, picked it up in a charity shop on BOGOF for 50p so anything is a bonus!

It won't be a first edition (as they wouldn't know when and if there would be a reprint ;)). If there are no other dates then it may be a 2nd edition. I would hold off on flogging it until you can do a little research ... it may worth something, it may not but you would kick yourself if you later found out it was worth quite a bit. Not sure on the best way to proceed ... probably depends on where you are and whether there is anyone you know or could get access to with more specific knowledge. Naturally, start with the internet and see what you can find ... some of the more prolific book sellers will likely be along with better advice ;).

I'm in profit at last :T

Selling my DVD collection via Ebay and sold a box set for £25 and 6 others between £3-£5 made about £19 after all the associated fees, postage etc!
Proud of who, and what, I am. :female::male:

:rotfl: ... not necessarily a philosophy you'd want to pin you coat tails too ... who knows where you might be led astray ;).

I will PM you thanks ... one elasticated cheque wending it's way :).

Think there is one a few people on here have used called Fotolibra? :D
  • Are there any wholesale type things out there for the really little person? :D As in for someone who has very little to invest at the beginning?

I've been looking at job lots and wholesale on ebay but is there anything else I can look at?

Out of my mind. Back in five minutes.

I'm currently using DHGate and have ordered 24 items for £102 including shipping. Obviously, do your research and be careful, as with anything there are scammers as well as good people.

The thing i like about it is, you can search for almost anything and you can narrow it down to free shipping etc so you don't get hounded on shipping costs. Things to consider are potentially paying VAT or customs charges when it arrives in the country too.

nice ideas Amber hope they ALL work ! You'll be busy bee but a wealthy busy bee :)

Just one question... domination website...? Curious as not sure if it means what i'm thinking it means?! :D

With regards to photos websites the ones I know of are:
    http://www.photoboxgallery.com/
    http://www.photostockplus.com/
a "free" ebook with info.. http://www.photosecrets.com/sell.html

Have not actually used these sites myself yet, they have been book marked for a few months and still haven't got round to actually checking them and seeing if its worth me joining up but hope you can get something out of them!

There is actually a thread on the "Up Your Income" board specifically about selling photos online - can some one tell me how to link a thread on here?
but if you just do a search for it on the forum it should pop up!

    Best of luck :)
