the virtual pot challenge is basically where you go into your bank accout once a week(!) online and you transfer the 'odd' balance over 00 into your savings....i.e. if you've got a balance of £266.20 you would move £6.20 into savings to leave £260.00, if you had £844.22 you'd move £4.22 to leave £840.00, effictively saving without really missing the money, think aim is to do it once a week same day, but Id have to recheck the details to be sure - the challenge is on this site somewhere! Just realised too, I still have £4.05 in mt virtual pot and spare change as not been near town to draw anything out of the account so balance is still an 00.....think I am beginning to love the snow!0

I know this qu probably best on amazon forum but cant see where it would fit...can anyone tell me why 4 used versions of a book would be selling for 3 times the RRP....I have just added a book nothing special that I have which is new (costs £8.99 new) but 4 used versions on there for over £24 a time...how can that be justified???0

Wow thanks for all those ideas Rao and Turia - oh, and Turia, domination does mean what you think it means ... I do it on the chatlines and I'm a very strict mistress :rotfl:0

First time listing on ebay in quite a while. I know you can't charge postage on books now, but can you charge postage for international shipping on books?
Couldn't find anything on a cursory scout around (seventeen things on at once today) but you may get some joy posting a question on the ebay forum here http://forums.ebay.co.uk/forum.jspa?forumID=3004 which is for international trading. Hope you can get somewhere with it ... and if you get an interesting answer, let us know

It is a complicated one to be sure ... I think some sellers put merchandise in at all areas of the price scale as there are all types of buyer. I know people who when you tell them where they can get something they are looking for cheaper than they were proposing to pay, they turn their nose up and say "but it isn't Selfridges" ... or whatever. Strange world we live in where people will pay a premium for the bag something comes in ... they must get a nibble at the high prices sometimes and that is enough to keep them happy. One of my books is up at around £25 (considerably less than the RRP by the way) but there is someone on there with it listed at £250 ... who knows, they may well get it and mine may well still be for sale in 6 months. It is a funny old world

Well my book is a bog standard type of book about making paninis cost £8.99 printed in UK, theres only 3 others on amazon but they are used and are listed at over £20 when there is £8.99 written on the back cover??? Unless I am missing something it has got me stumped, I am willing to sell it new for £6.99. As for the bag comment well I will agree with you there, I once put a bag with chocs in it on ebay (out of curiosity) to see what happened, the bag was from Hershey's in Times Square in New York and the choc was too though it was out of date by about 3 years (which I stated in the ad) and you guessed it it sold for a fair few pounds, so yeah a carrier bag can sell!!!0
