Aruna, thank god you got out of there. Everytime I come into this thread I'm reminded of what me and so many other women have gone through, becuase we couldn't find the courage to get out. And then we did - and started learning how to be strong in our own right.

Ignore him as much as you can. Yes, you'll have doubts, but ask yourself - do you want to be a doormat, or do you want to be you?

The way i feel relieved, its just unbelievable, As i was lying in bed last night, i was thinking how much i had to compromise just to make him happy, almost changed myself to a mirror image of him to suit what he liked.

i'll give you one example, he didnt like pork sausages, i love pork sausages, so each time i did the monthly online tesco shopping, if the shopping got delivered while i was at work, he would have to put it away, if he saw sausages he would sulk and throw his toys out of the pram, saying i've bought this !!!!!! he doesnt like, should have bought extra bacon instead (because he'll only have bacon with his breakfast),

i had to stop eating sausages because of his reaction!! today i had a sausage sandwich for breakfast, bought sausages last night without fear of him moaning, pheww..

That is unbelievable. Mrs Shadow gets all kinds of stuff I don't like - and all kinds of stuff that I do. We pull faces at each other's likes and then laugh. I can't imagine you would have made him go without bacon - well, enjoy your sausages, I say.

Like other have said hun, chances are you wont see the money again, it's one of those things unfortunately. Some people are generous and give and some people just take and take.

It is just money and money can't buy happiness. I had this problem years back with an ex who constantly wanted money for cigarettes etc and would become volatile and abusive if I refused. Needless to say I had it in writing that he owed me the money as well and he got violent wanting the paperwork back after we split up. I let him keep the money in exchange for never seeing him again

As Teagan said, Karma has a way of coming back around.

Just caught up with the thread, well done for getting out of this relationship!

You are very brave and an inspiration to those in a similar situation who may not have the courage to take those steps.
